5-0. Gritty effort in a physical and sloppy football game in Madison. I was cautiously optimistic, but didn't think I'd see a 5-0 start. It finally feels like Kirk Ferentz has the Hawkeyes back in his form...bring on the Illini!

NW-Iowa could end up being the division title game.

Except for the games that they trounce them 50-7, they take the attention of the Friday Night Lights folks away from the fetid mess that is football at the University of Texas - Austin.

Seven win Sark is in play. I repeat, Seven win Sark is in play.

If Navy pulls off the upset today in South Bend and runs the table, or even if they don't and end up with one loss, I could see them getting the Group of 5 bid. The American is pretty strong this year. The only detriment would be they only have 11 games played by selection time since Army-Navy is played a week after football is over.

If Navy is 11-0 at that time I think we can pencil them in for beating Army.

There's a rule in place if Navy (or Army) is under consideration to wait a week before making their choices.
