College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Well, this would be stupid. I guess this guy has some credibility and was one of the first with Harbaugh to UM news.

Let's say it's real.

How is eliminating the acc making things better???

I guess concentrate the diminishing viewers.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

The Grant of Rights kind of makes this difficult, if not impossible.

no way FSU would jump to a league where they would have to travel to Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Madison, Minneapolis, Evanston, and other northern cold weather locations in late october and November. They would jump to the SEC, and probably bring Miami with them.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

FSU probably doesn't make it in based on research alone.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Also with 20 teams you basically wouldn't have to travel that much because you'd have 2-4 regional divisions.

FBS's loss. FCB's gain..

@FootballScoop: Source: Idaho to drop to FCS – Official announcement tomorrow http://footballscoop.com/news/source-idaho-to-drop-to-fcs/

Maybe UMass will get the idea...

Not that anyone here cares that much, other than me, but here's the official announcement- http://www.uidaho.edu/president/com...vibe_internal-memo&utm_medium=digital_general

Got in my weekly Vandal Vibe.

Lots of unhappy people in Moscow, but reality is a *****.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

DOJ says they might look into it, NCAA changes their mind.

"Explain to me why this ban helps the kids?"

"Um……"

"Yeah, cancel that ban"

It's interesting the two talking head sides took. One thought this really hurts schools like Eastern and Western who would tag along to these schools with Michigan or MSU and get recruits. Never thought about that.

The other side made it sound that the SEC would implode if the B1G was allowed down there.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Now if EMU would do the same.

Unless more of the MAC does, I doubt they will. At least Idaho played in D1AA, and the Big Sky has all of their old rivals (except Bozo State). Funny thing that Idaho and EMU have a similar problem- a big D1 school within a few miles- drawing fans to see teams like Stanford and Northwestern over New Mexico State and Ohio.

I'll bet more people show up to smaller Montana than any of the Sun Belt teams.

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

It works well for Idaho because they play in the Big Sky for all other sports, used to play in the Big Sky, and the travel is a heck of a lot less than the Sun Belt, though still spread out.

If EMU were to drop to FCS, any conference would automatically include more travel, against teams no one is familiar with (not that it seems to matter anyway), and they would lose any chance at payday games against Big Ten teams with the new FCS ban. Consequently, I don't know if the MAC has a rule that full members must sponsor football, so completing the move would probably result in them going to the Horizon, which at that point they would be better off just dropping football altogether, or joining the no scholarship Pioneer league.
