Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Special teams block by Nebraska on the punt.

And they immediately throw it deep and get it picked off in the endzone.

Stupid. Stupid.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

GTech with 3 consecutive holding calls on a 2 and goal. Ugh.

Up 13-7 over Clemson.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

And don't forget the two straight false starts before that.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Faceguarding is not pass interference!

When will the refs learn the rules? It's not like its their job!

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

If Nebraska had any kind of offense, this game would have been the other semifinal. That defense has been nasty, and the offense equally so.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

So the SEC has great defenses and the Big 12 has explosive offenses?

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Somebody remind me why Texas is a shoo in for the title game at 12-0 and Cinci gets put on the sidelines?

Money? Texas was ahead in the polls - if they win they'll play in the title game. If they lose (or win close) the voters will probably choose TCU because there will be a lot of sentimentality on their side - and the BC$ can say, "See, the system works!"

Cincinnati didn't play a good schedule and came from a weak conference, not to mention the poll problem.

You realize Texas has beaten a grand total of one team currently ranked in the Top 25 (OK State is 20th or so).

And the computers show Cincy slightly ahead of Texas.

Unfortunately, the polls make up 70% of the rankings. And they see Texa$!, especially since most of those dolts watch less football then me.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

It seems like an paradox to say the rankings are flawed and then point to how many ranked teams someone played. Maybe that's just me. :D

edit: thought of a more appropriate term!

Pass deflected and picked off......if it hadn't been, he was throwing into double coverage.

Who the hell is the Nebraska backup?

I understand, but that wasn't the question. The Big 12 is perceived as a tougher conference than the Big East, therefore Texas played a tougher schedule than Cincy. Plus, they're Texas...

Nice, McCoy. Senior and you're taking a sack in a one point game inside field goal range.
