Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

Well, Well Tennessee cuts the Bama lead to 12-10 with an onside kick upcoming. I'm pretty underwhelmed with our new number one team in the country. UT has been the better team today imo.

edit: Woah! Tennessee recovers! All they need is a field goal.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

Just more proof of how awesome the SEC is! Tennessee nearly beats Alabama! The BCS should just be all SEC teams!!!

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

It's official, Lane Kiffin is only a de-aged Dick Jauron.

The kicker stinks, and even worse, your special teams blocking. So obviously with 45 seconds left and 30 yards to the end zone...you go for the FG.

I don't care, you run one or two more quick plays and try and get into the end zone.

I can't wait till we get that Alabama-Florida rematch in the BCS title game. With domination like this, there can be no argument.

Is this a signature win for Weis? :p

What was up with Jimmy Clausen-BC player? It looked like Jimmy went over to talk to him and the BC player was mad about something. Then Jimmy shoves him and walks away?

I kind of thought that too...but it looked like Clausen had a smart ***** grin on his face. It was probably harmless trash talk.

My goodness Alabama is the best this country can produce right now?

This might be the worst year for the BCS and the best for a playoff system. No one deserves to go play for a national title right now. Maybe TCU if they beat BYU and go undefeated and maybe Cinci! :)

It's a good thing he wasn't trash talking a kid from Oregon.

No, they're the best the SEC can produce right now.

TCU vs Boise! :D

That would be a ratings blockbuster and a money bonanza!

Also glad to know the "taking off your helmet" rule doesn't apply to the favorite in an SEC game.

Cody took off his helmet and ran even before the play was whistled.

Also, shame on all the UT players. The kick was blocked and it never made it to the line. While all the Bama players were celebrating, just one UT player needed to be aware, pick up the ball, and run all the way for the TD.

TBA is right again this week. Kiffin better not get away unscathed. He could have run, even with no timeouts, more than one or two quick plays -- hell, he could've run 4-5 if they used the sidelines or made first downs! And he sits there and settles for a long FG attempt that everyone in America knew would not be successful. Talk about coaching to lose! It looks like Al Davis was right about something. ;)

Rules? In an SEC game? No rules!*

* - except for phantom "celebration" calls to keep our teams in the top 5.

Illegal Shift on Florida? Shouldn't that have been a penalty on Earth for moving without Tim Tebow's permission?

It's like I was watching Marty Schottenheimer against the Jets all over again.

Look, you can always miss a FG. 40+ yards out and how good Bama is at getting penetration on special teams...you go for the TD.

I always say, if you throw a quick pass on a route to the outside that only your WR can get to, nothing bad can happen. You pick up yards and keep on getting closer. Incomplete? Who cares. If a fluke happens and they somehow get the ball on a fumble or an interception that's still a much better decision than relying on that worthless kicker.

You should never lose a game by deciding to rely on the weak link of your team.
