College Basketball ver Do Wedzenia Krzyzewski

Hats off to Creighton; they came to play. Baylor busted a bracket. But, it was one of the best college basketball games I've seen.

Good close games today.

When did basketball change its rules to say you don't have to dribble inside the key anymore?

Got 13 teams in the Sweet 16(With Baylor I had 2 SEC frauds in Kaintuck and Auburn). I started a few years ago picking the winners in the CBS football pool and segued into the bball pool. When I originally signed up SoS was taken by some fargin' bastage so I used southison.
Currently tied with 5 others for 3rd locally, gogators is also the national leader.

I say this as someone who is pro-Coach-K, but making every other night have to be his career-in-review in case it's his last game is wearing thin.

I think Texas Tech is gonna end that tonight. I put a coupla rupees on them and on a parlay with them and the Zags.

Zags bow out early. Lost a lot of the 50/50 balls tonight.

I'm not quite sure what they'll be bringing back next year. Obviously Chet is gone. It's hard to tell who's actually leaving thanks to the Covid year giving everyone an extra year. I think Nembhard can come back if he wants. Timme is only a junior and he's not getting great NBA rankings, so unless he goes to Europe he should be back. Strawther is projected first round at the moment, and while he hasn't had a gangbusters year, the NBA is definitely a league that drafts on potential. Whatever happens, they definitely aren't in the running for a Chet/Suggs type player this year.

And Duke is gonna be alright... the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 10th rated recruits next year. 7-1, 6-11, 6-6, and 6-8.

Duke hits their last eight field goals to come from behind and beat Texas Tech. After outscoring MSU 20-6 to come from behind in the last five minutes last game.

Go Hogs, I guess.

Looks like the grandkids won't be getting anything until Xmas. j/k What I lost was chump change. I'll think long and hard about the games tonight...and then go the opposite way.

Watching college basketball fans complain about officiating (non-stop since at least the 19th century) is funny when you like college hockey.

I don't know if the numbers support me, but since GMU in 2006 are there more long runs by low seeds than there used to be; VCU, Loyola, and now Saint Peters to the Elite 8, and especially if they make it to the Final Four? It feels like you used to wait a decade plus if ever for these to happen, and now every 4-5 years or so.

1) The play-in games have messed with the traditional bracket strength moving some seed lines around. Plus these First Four at-larges are usually in due to momentum at the end of the year so they’re riding hot streaks.
2) Warrior ball/analytics/whatever you want to attribute to the rise of the three pointer has played a part. It was usually called the Great Equalizer for mid majors trying to pull an upset, but the last six years or so has ramped that up even more. Though funny enough that isn’t Loyola’s ballgame and this St Peter’s team is actually a bit of an exception as they shoot it well but don’t shoot it often. But ORU last year was all about the three.
3. Transfer portal means you can fill holes or even build a new team in a year or two.
