College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

I still wish the MSU women had been able to make it to the Sweet Sixteen just to get a chance against UConn, but there's no way they would've beaten them. By all accounts Oregon St is the team best suited to beat them, and it's a 20 point game at half.

They crushed OSU with one of their best players on the bench with an injury.

Ariel Powers is leaving MSU a year early to enter the WNBA. She did have prior injury history, but amazing someone would leave early without their degree (unless she finished it) for a league where 100k is the max salary, and where the average rookie only makes 36k.

Edit: I guess she has finished her degree already, been here four years with a redshirt. I guess at that point it's between deciding to get a year's worth of masters credits vs getting injured and never playing pro.

That man will never buy another drink again and likely always have a job offer somewhere.

Even more so if the NBA comes calling.

He just Christian Laettnered himself. If he's smart, he's getting people together. Agent, money guy, legal, etc. He just set himself up for life with one shot.

Did UNC ever get any sanctions for the NCAA violations? Doesn't seem like I've heard of any?

I also wonder if "leaving for the WNBA" is shorthand for "trying out for a more lucrative European/Russian/Chinese gig."

They're still investigating because they're dripping out new violations like a leaky faucet.

Possibly. I still don't understand how overseas leagues pay women into the millions.

I knew UConn's winning margin this year was somewhere around 35+ a game, but I didn't realize they haven't had a single game this year within single digits. That is pure domination.
