Colgate and Starr's last season

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

The ice is supposed to be put down soon ! Anyone have a progress report ?

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Sr, AD Guglieri just posted a pic of the rink on her twitter feed saying first ice set for tomorrow.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Mike Borkowski signed with the Detroit Red Wings and will be playing for Grand Rapids this fall. Congratulations to him!

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Ice down, wonder who gets to be the first person to skate on it ? DV ?

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Started this on Twitter yesterday and have had a few responses. I figured most of you guys would be interested in this as well as a fun summer question and something to do while waiting out the dog days of summer.

Name your all-time Colgate team. Three forwards, two defensemen, one goalie.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Because you build a team from the blueline out- here we go:

Goal - Dave Gagnon
Def - Brad Dexter
Def - Mark Renaud
Fwd - Steve Smith
Fwd - Dan Fridgen
Fwd - Mike Harder

Coach: Terry Slater

Honorable Mentions: Jeff Cooper, Mark Dekanich, David Conte, Mike Milbury, Joel Gardner, Steve Poapst, Andy McDonald

Wow! I would love to see these guys together - great list.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Off Topic: Bummer game against 'Cuse yesterday, but no one injured that I know of, which is a positive.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Two days until I get to see the new rink !! So excited!! A member of the team told me that they are going to practice at 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 20th so they will be the first to skate in Riggs Rink. GO 'GATE!!!

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Looks like the women skated on Riggs ice today...and #8 in the preseason national poll
GO 'gate!!!!!!!

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Anyone else who saw the rink yesterday worried that the final "details" and finishing touches won't be completed? I have confidence that it is all going to plan but there are a lot of things and finishing touches to be done in a week plus

Really hope all finishing touches are ready to go. Would hate for a soft roll out. Anxious for Thursday's single tickets going on sale. Needing to grab 10 for the opener, which I'm worried could be a problem lining up with Homecoming weekend.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

I was at the new rink yesterday and I am confident that it will be ready. Consider that the President's Inauguration, the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Council meetings will all be happening that weekend and will bring in LOTS of VIPs, not to mention the Dedication of the rink and lots of members of the Class of '65 (as well as Homecoming and 8 other varsity sports games) - the University will make sure it is ready. The work crew is on double shifts. GO 'GATE

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Agree with CU13 that the pressure of all the weekend events will get it done but am curious as to what still needs to be done. Pictures show paint is needed in the entry and on the VIP room inside and some stone cladding outside. Can somebody that was there yesterday enlighten?
