Colgate 24-25

Thanks Rightnut.

Anyone have any input or thoughts on new Asst Coach from UVM? Looks like an excellent resume.

Picked 4th in the nation by USCHO......here we go! The exhibition game vs SLU on Saturday at 3 will be carried on ESPN+ - Go 'gate!

Many agree that championships are won with a strong defense. There's no doubt that the Raiders have a solid goaltender, but with Morrow's departure, there are a lot of questions on the blue line. I'm hoping that the arrival of Borgiel, who was #1 at Holy Cross, will compensate in part for the loss of Morrow. Pickering, Spring and Belfry now have a year's experience under their belts. Offensively, there's no doubt that the Raiders have gained in depth. Of course, Serdachny's departure leaves a huge void. But the arrival of Petford, Aubin and Spitz suggests a very exciting team offensively.

Proud Canadian you hit the nail on the head. If our young D has grown from last year when all but Pickering were tentative at best, we'll be fine. If not, Pickering, Eichfeld and Borgiel are going to get a lot of ice time and we'll need our O to possess the puck big time. I like our speed, but we'll miss Tessa Holk who was an unexpected loss in my eyes and gain for QPac. She was fast...

Ohio State plays two games against Minn-Deluth this weekend. We play UMD home in two weeks !

Preseason, etc, but other than 2 great plays by Pais I thought SLU looked like the better team. Colgate is not what they were last year.

Nobody claimed they would be Pucklover. That's why they were picked 2nd in the ECAC this year, because on paper Clarkson's D are world class and Cornell is loaded too. That said, I like our chances. SLU's goal was on a screwup by one of our young D who fluffed a pass in our D zone but other than that our goalies were great, frosh goalie especially impressed, and I am thrilled that M Palumbo scored. She is very talented and for the first half of last season she was snake bit. Pais is something else. One of only 6 Canadian undergrads invited to the National team festival this summer where she was one of the top players. In the 3rd with the game on the line she and Palumbo were impressive... Borgiel looked good too as did Eichfeld and Pickering. Hard to tell in one game what the young O can do but there were encouraging hints...

Aubin played a decent game. She played on the left flank with Petford and Stewart. On her first shift, she took a penalty. After that, she seemed to play nervously. Physically very committed, she had her best moments in the 3rd period. Great chemistry with Kalty and Biederman in her only appearance with them. If her progress during the game is anything to go by, the best is yet to come.

Aubin's a player. I've followed her through her U-18 career until now. Healthily chippy and fearless. She'd be great with Kalty and EB buzzing around and taking no prisoners. Penalties could be a problem early on as she settles in but past teammates seem to really like her personality and high energy. Looking forward to Spitz too. She's not big but can score in bunches as she has shown forever with Little Caesar's with its tough schedule. Mercyhurst, if it goes as expected, should allow some of these newbies to show their stuff a bit more. I would think Stefan might give them more ice time in different combinations as he finalizes his lines for the UMD series...

A split at home against UMD would be a very successful w/e in my book. These early OKC games are crucial to the PWR come March. We obviously need to shoot the puck more. That has been a concern of mine for years.

Thirty minutes to gametime...looking forward, hope I'm not dissappointed, a tough task !

After losing to mercyhurst I had my doubts about this team. After splitting with UMD, which we could have won both games, I have a much better feeling about the caliber of this team going forward. Don't forget UMD swept The Ohio State Univ a couple of weeks ago.

Good win against RIT. Kalty line clicking on all cylinders, Pais line still in the doldrums. Stef needs to get them going. Maybe switch out Brick for Stewart, who is playing great, for more energy. Murphy better each game.

Outshot a good portion of the game, what else is new. Struggle scoring 5x5, took at least 7 penalties. It’s an early mess.
