Colgate 22-23

A tough loss but a very good game played by two quality teams. But for one tipped goal...

We'll meet again and OSU had a loss and a tie at their own rink against the Gophers so they move down along with us...

I agree with Oldtimer - it was a good game by both teams. TchrBill - perhaps you could start looking at the glass being half full, instead of half empty. This is a premier team with lots of great hockey to be played. Go 'gate!!

I do look at it as half full. There are improvements from last season. The problem is it’s still shy of a full glass. Keeping your entire roster scoreless is not a fluke. It will not get any easier and makes the early games less convincing. Happens many times when we’re up against our own talent level.

Happens to EVERYBODY when they are up against their (true) talent level. Good luck the rest of the way.

Gritty win, glad we outshot our opponent which did not happen much last year. Offense always difficult for us when we play ranked teams.
Qpac lost to Yale; Bulldogs #1 in PWR with only 3 wins. We need to start our season in November. Where the heck is Hannah Murphy, think she is more stable than Osborne. Glad the scuffle at the end didn’t cost us any players. Nice-looking crowd on hand! Boy, do they deserve it.

That was way, way too close. We owned them coming out of the first then inexplicably, as we do from time to time, dropped the rpms 50% and coasted through the second. Then our goalie and D lost their composure for 10 long minutes which should have sealed our fate. Hopefully, Hannah gets the start tomorrow if she's not injured and hopefully the team plays a full 60 with pedal to the the metal.

Thank you once again Danielle for your patience and vision in a crowd when it counts most with 5 seconds to go. What a clutch player!

Murphy had the start today. A bit rusty but team eked out another W.
Will say this now, even if it bites me later. The team is good. The team was good last year. And the year before that. But playing from behind, barely defeating sub-.500 teams, getting shutout by the only Top 5 team…Colgate looks destined for a nice season with another shallow playoff run. Can’t help but compare this team to the Runner-up squad. Have not felt it since. And where would we be w/out Kalty and Danielle…
OSU looms very large. A split would be a great accomplishment and help solidify our PWR.
Enjoy the week off, Colgate!

Not unexpected the WCHA would take over the top spots in the polls. Imagine playing each other every week. The ECAC has become a solid No. 2 imho. Colgate at #6 is a bit high; I’d swap them with Qpac.
who will get the start in goal tomorrow? Not being negative, but if Kalty is shut down, which would not be hard for a team like OSU to do, we won’t win. Our defense is spotty against top tier teams. And let’s see how disciplined we are.

I'm hoping tonight will mirror last year's Smashville Tourney when we played BC and the Gophers and our great D helped us win it all.
It depends on which team shows up. If it's first period v. Harvard we can beat anyone...if it's much less than that it will be tough.

The bad news is Colgate has generated 10 shots on goal through 2 periods while giving up 36 to the Yuckeyes.

The good news is they have scored 3 goals on those 10 shots and only trail 4-3 after two periods...
