Colgate 2024-25 Harder Hockey

haven't posted in a long time, but need to today...devastating loss of both Gaudreau boys...thoughts and prayers are with the entire family...yes, the world of college hockey is an intimate one and this tragedy is especially hard to believe...our sport was a better one because of both Gaudreau brothers...

As an oldtimer I'm waiting for the next 1PM home game at '65 Arena. Guess i'll have a long wait, eh? :-(

Skate how about this...Saturday Oct 5th football at home vs Holy Cross at one PM and Women's hockey vs Minn-Deluth at 3:00 PM. I will attend both. Men at UConn at 7:00PM on ESPN+

I just heard it's "Silver Puck Weekend", guess they're trying something new ? Makes zero sense to me, but what do I know ?

I thought Silver Puck W/E was in October or Nov. The Terry Slater Tourney must have been moved to fall so returning players could mix with the undergrad hockey players and also see a football game(?).

Zappa, thanks for the thoughts. It's very tempting to be in attendance for that doubleheader. Women's hockey is where it's at at these days. I'm boycotting ESPN+ since the Mother Ship has now blacked out ABC, all ESPN TV stations, etc. on Directv, which I subscribe to. Won't see the Jets opener and hopefully this doesn't affect my Giants games :-( We need a revolt!

FYI - if you have DirecTV satellite, you might still have local ABC, which will get you the Jets-49ers MNF game. NYC lost ABC, but Albany and Syracuse will still have the alphabet network, since a different company (Nexstar) owns the affiliates in those cities.

But if you have DirecTV Stream, you lost your local ABC station. Contractual mumbo jumbo.

Mickey Mouse is the mascot of an evil corporation, as Bart Simpson once said in The Simpsons Movie. During NHL season they sometimes put games on “regular” ESPN but other times require a subscription to ESPN+, making you pay Disney twice. I want to boycott Disney but don’t want to miss Colgate football and hockey.

Less than a month until the puck drops!

I have a Firestick but don't know how to use it......tech challenged :-( But thx for the tip Zappa.

It has to be a"Jailbroken Firestick" it comes with a bunch of loaded apps on it already. It has everything...from movies that are in the theatre today to any sport in the world.

Colgate at UConn tix purchased today for Friday-Saturday, October 4-5.
$71 total for one ticket for both nights.
Will drive over on Friday and return on Sunday if anyone needs a ride.

Shabby,
for each night:

MIH vs. Colgate -Toscano Family Ice Forum

Price Type Price Level Qty Price Fee Cost

------------------------- ----------- --- -------- --------- ----------

Advance Chairback 1 28.00 7.50 35.50

Thus, $35.50 x 2 nights = $71 total.
Not a VIP box, but it is a newer arena than Class of ‘65 Arena.

Thanks for the tip Shabby. I'll look for it at "my favorite store." Sounds like even I might be able to figure out :/)

Heisenberg has Joshua Niedermayer transferring from Arizona State - where he played 19 games as a freshman last year - to The Gate for the 2025-26 season...he is currently in the USHL...good size, was productive in the BCHL and rates 3.75 as a prospect...great pedigree and looks like a good pickup...

Anybody headed to Monday night’s Raiders as Waiters food pantry fundraiser at the Hamilton Inn? I chose the 7:30 seating over the 5:30 p.m. seating.
