Tuned into the game with about 16 minutes to go in the 3rd and we’re up 3-2. I thought we were very solid in our end and we were good on faceoffs and puck possession. I did not feel we were trying to sit on the lead. Neither team had a great scoring chance, and I don’t remember Gylander having to come up big even when SLU pulled their goalie. Anyway it was another 6 point weekend at home which is huge. A win at Union on Friday should solidify our chances for a top 4 finish. Great job!!

Thought this was our best weekend of the year. Both games we controlled play, rarely back on our heels... and didn't go into the dreaded "defensive shell" at any point! Fun team to watch this year, and I'll take 6 points, a lax upset & a hoops blowout anytime. Big weekend for Red Raider sports!

Does anyone know if Glasman is injured? He didn’t play this weekend. Or was he a healthy scratch?

another one-goal win over SLU...great to get six points, puts us in a position for a top four seed...last year we were 1-3-0 against Union and RPI...need to change that metric...great to see Mitton in top form last night...and, yes, lacrosse win over #4 Penn State offsets, a little, disappointing weekend for the women in the North Country...go 'Gate

After going 1-6-2 at home from October-December 2023, we are a perfect 4-0 at home in 2024!

It’s always good to sweep the North Country teams!

Magoo - I don't think he would be a healthy scratch. Sure hope he's okay! GREAT WEEKEND and SO nice to get 6 points at home!! Go 'Gate!!!!

I agree Magoo...beating Union friday night would be very large on finishing in top four. We had alot of trouble with RPI last year. As Gate83 says, we play to our opponents level every weekend whether it's Q-Pac, Cornell or Brown.

I agree, Steve. Great photo of Robbie after getting his first Colgate goal and the article is pure Mike Harder! His energy and positivity are contagious!! Go 'gate!

Can we stay on a roll, Union is playing very well, key game for the battle for a top four finish and home ice. Go Gate !

Does anyone know if Mitton Gylander or Glasmon have decided to come back for next year or not. I think they are the last year that gets the extra year if i am correct

Tough loss last night; about a minute and a half of the first period cost us dearly in a game we played pretty well and could have won.

imperative to take three points tonight.

our PK has been poor all season; we seem to have real problems clearing pucks out of our zone...not one of Gylander's better games unfortunately...a win tonight against RPI is imperative...if it's in the cards would love to see Brandon and/or Anderson (most likely the former) get an extra year...we are now 1-4 against Capital Teams in our last four meetings...

They would have to enroll in one of Colgate’s graduate programs. This is why Mitch Benson “transferred” to BC after the 2021-22 season.

Not a good weekend, the second point for the shootout win may prove very important. Gylander didn't have a good weekend. Four home and two away left, just win at home.
Labelle impresses me, four assists last night.

once again, I strongly suggest we work on the PK over the next several days...allowing 3 power plays goals AND an EA goal is simply awful...glad to get the points...

While we were fortunately able to salvage 2 points on the weekend, it should be noted that last night, our penalty kill operated at a 0% success rate.

Yes, you read right, ZERO percent. In the 19 seasons I have been following Colgate men’s ice hockey, I have never seen them be this futile.

For the entire weekend, our PK was 2 for 7. But one of those successful kills only lasted 3 seconds. Yes, THREE seconds. So throw that out and you get 1 for 6 on the PK for the weekend. We didn’t get called for many penalties (on average, just one per period) but almost every time we did, we FAILED to survive the man-down situation. A far cry from the Clarkson game where we killed off a 5-minute penalty and made it look easy.

Just killing off 2/3 of our penalties both nights would have gotten us at least 4 points. Had we killed all of our man-down situations, we would have earned 6 points, clean-sweeping the weekend. Thankfully the two teams directly behind us in the standings both lost in regulation last night, keeping us in good control of 3rd place.
