Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

I'm not sure, there used to be a few from Norwich NY, 20 miles south I believe. Welcome to ECAC hockey.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Am an Omaha season ticket holder who is moving back to upstate NY late this month.
I would like to get Colgate season ticket, but I will likely be living in owego, NY.
Do any other season ticket holder s live in the southern tier?
Tom S.

Not a season ticket holder, but I live in Owego. I attend the Clarkson game every year - which has not gone well for my team, every year. It's about 2 hours from Owego to Hamilton in good weather, but a pretty easy drive.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Thanks for responding. My niece is the Clarkson alum president in Boston. One of my Frozen Four buddies has a Clarkson season ticket.
Anyway, if you hear of a Colgate hockey regular from southern tier, please let me know.
Tom s.

Thanks for responding. I will keep my ears and eyes open for Colgate hockey regulars in southern tier.

Why Colgate? You seem closer to Cornell, yes? Amazing atmosphere, but season tix there are probably impossible. I travel 3+ hrs for every game and the weather is relentless. See you in Hamilton!

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Two brothers went to Colgate in the Sixties. Love Hamilton and the University. Dislike Cornell. He he he
I have driven from Knoxville iowa to / from Omaha for all UNO home games the last several years.
Thanks for the reply.

What class were they in, if I might ask. Also names if you are comfortable with that. Don't need season tix to Colgate games. Can get game day tix pretty easily. Will post names of southern tier folks if I hear of any.

William schmeh was early Sixties.
Albert schmeh was mid sixties.
Will know exact years tomorrow.
Thanks.

Knoxville to Omaha? How long a drive is that, Tom?! My sister went to college in Pella :-) Good answer about Cornell, welcome to the family and remember to bring your Big Red gum. Hope you'll consider coming to some football games, too. The weather is *usually* more cooperative and the fall atmosphere in Hamilton can't be beat.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Knoxville to Omaha is three hours via hwy. 92 and 2.5 hours via I-80.
Pella is 12 miles from Knoxville.
Looking forward to the hockey season already.

Bill was class of 1959 and Al was class of 1968.

Guess I just missed both of them. Thanks for the information tho....(DU was a good frat in my time)

Bad game for Chris Wagner last night. His penalty in the last few minutes allowed the Predators to knock off the Ducks, 2-1. It's gotta be hard on a young player with all the stress of the playoffs.

Wagner scored the only goal last night, he hits everybody in sight.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Another nice goal by Wagner tonight. He was sent into the boards on his head twice...tough hombre. Better luck to the Ducks next year.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

I thought he got more ice time every game, he is very tough, he played lke that his soph year at Gate before leaving.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Any news on our schedule for next year ? Will our brilliant schedulers have an almost two month gap in home games from Nov to Jan again ? Isn't the new rink supposed to draw teams that wouldn't have normally played at Starr ?

I'd certainly love to know; there are a LOT of gaps. Any gaps on the spreadsheet int he schedule thread will probably be eastern teams, as the western ones are pretty much set.

I have no clue on the schedule. I believe news of that won't come out until after the Terry Slater Golf Tournament, in July. I sure hope we don't have another 2 month gap.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

We have home games Jan 6-7 so maybe the gap will be only about six weeks.:D
