With all the Borkowski talk I feel like we have to be more realistic. I'd love to see him come back this season or playoffs, but to be realistic we have to assume he is gone for the season. The school announced that he was out for the season and although people can heal faster than others, they wouldn't have announced that unless they are almost 100% sure. Colgate and vaughn don't like to talk about specific injuries so it would be out of character to put out that presser and go back on it.
Going forward we just have to stay healthy, at least until spiro gets back. We easily forget that one thing we liked about this team in September was the depth. And although we are not 21-0 we have done well for the injuries we have had.
I worry about finn, he has been playing very well (some of those games should have gotten out of hand but we are in them). But his D has failed him recently and now you lose a stalwart on the D line it is only going to make it tougher.

Is it possible Borkowski will receive red-shirt status but by coming back would lose it?I agree with you - I don't think Borkwski will be back; and I don't think I want him to take any chance of further injury that might affect the rest of his career. Just was passing along what I was told be people who know what they have seen. They did not say they thought he'd return - just that they were amazed at his recovery. We all want 'Gate to win, but his complete recovery is far more important.

Forgot that being 16th in the PWR is the kiss of death.
Yes.
Prognosticating the PWR, January 22, 2015
Right now, Colgate is 16th in the Pairwise Rankings, which would make them the first team out, assuming the highest ranked team from each conference were to win its conference tournament. But we play Harvard this weekend, and a win against the Crimson would give us an RPI bonus, something we haven't had yet this year. A sweep this weekend would certainly put us back on the right side of the PWR Mason-Dixon line. Other outcomes that would help our cause include:
Sacred Heart sweeps Mercyhurst (gives us the maximum RPI boost when compared to Mercyhurst sweeping or these two teams splitting)
Robert Morris sweeps Holy Cross
St. Cloud sweeps Western Michigan (also gives us the maximum RPI boost)
BU sweeps Vermont
Providence sweeps UMass Lowell
Northeastern sweeps Notre Dame
Yes, all of our OOC opponents are playing the same opponent twice. Plus, in order to pass some teams currently ahead of us, we'll also want these outcomes:
Miami sweeps Denver
Wisconsin sweeps Michigan (doesn't seem likely at all, but crazier things have happened)
Rainman - can you explain why we would want an SCSU sweep of W Michigan if we are 1-0 against them and only 1-1 against SCSU. Wouldn't we want WM to sweep because that would put them in the top 20 and QWB? I am just curious.
A sweep this weekend would be huge! A spilt will not do us much for the pairwise and we would Prob even drop a few spots for now. Need to beat some quality opponents. The ECAC's occ record will hurt it down the road. 3 teams in would probably be the most we are getting come March.
Colskate....Finn can have a weekend off if we get a bye.(1-4)
It's been two months and eight games since our last home game, I hope that never happens again, too long. Five of the next six home, we need to pile up the points. Also hoping Cornell vs Harvard is a very physical game, usually is. Harvard has some key injuries .
