Re: Colgate 2011-12

How would anyone characterize Yale compared to last year? Are they still the team to beat? Not the offensive power from last year...yet. Please tell me Arcobello (sp?) has graduated.

Arcobello graduated in 2010. Right now Yale's top players are Brian O'Neill and Andrew Miller -- both were kept off the scoreboard on Sat. night. Right now I think the Bulldogs are still tinkering with line combinations, as they're only scoring 2 goals/game. Some bad puck luck for us is what kept us from lighting the lamp. However, we also benefited from many Yale shots going wide.

Still, the team never quit. ECAC teams are going to beat each other up as the season goes on. No room for error anymore -- every remaining game will be significant in the PWR. I've already got the Merrimack game on 12/10 circled on my calendar.

Yes, great story on Page 1.

Welcome to Kyle Baun, new recruit from Cornwall (CJHL), RW, 6'1" - 195 lbs. Geez, we must have a secure pipeline to Cornwall. Six of our 7 newbies are from there, including the Spink twins..:)

Re: Colgate 2011-12

Merrimack fan here. Thinking about making the trip out to Hamilton in December. Any advice on where to stay and any places to see around campus?

Thanks.

Re: Colgate 2011-12

Hope you are able to make the trip, irish. I'm sure others will chime in with helpful info.

Hamilton is a quaint town with small shops but is no metropolis. Cooperstown is an hour (?) east from campus. Never underestimate the weather here and take precaution...even if it's nice where you are when you leave!

Re: Colgate 2011-12

Thanks. I've looked on hotels.com and found that there was not much. I really want to make the trip. I've been to Union, RPI, St. Lawrence and all the Ivy ECAC schools besides Cornell. I'd like to make the trip, just having doubts because of it being in December and there being not much to do for only one game. I wish it was in October so I could have played the golf course. :)

Re: Colgate 2011-12

I thought that there was great fan/alumni support at both Brown and Yale last week. Usually get a good crowd at the Harvard game, how about the Dartmouth area?

BTW, he's a grandson of former NHL player Bob Baun.

Unfortunately, I won't be making it to tomorrow night's game, so I can't give you an idea of what the the turnout will be. I will be at Saturday night's game though. The Colgate Alumni Club of Boston is once again sponsoring a pre-game reception (too late to sign up) before the Harvard game, so there will be a good Colgate crowd supporting the team that night.

Seven recruits for next year, four from the Cornwall Colts. Wonder if we owe this to Jesse Winchester who had alot to do with getting the Spink twins.

Four forwards, two defensmen, anda goalie, I like it.

Re: Colgate 2011-12

So in response to getting shutout by the Bulldogs, we White-wash the Green. Didn't tune in tonight but congratulations to Eric Mihalik on his first career shutout!

Will be at Harvard tomorrow night. We need to get revenge for that awful loss in Cambridge (well, technically Allston) last January.

Solid win for the team tonight. Good win against a good team on the road.

Now this weekend we should NOT be happy with a split. Harvard's down and we should be able to go into their place and get a win.
