I don't have any NCAA Financial reports from public DIII schools, so I can't compare them. As it is I don't have any NCAA Financials from 3 of the 13 public schools that sponsor(ed) women's DI hockey and only one for Bemidji State.

Based on the system I know how to look up, here's a four year average for the HC of the SUNY women's hockey schools (3 for Morrisville as they're only that old).

School AVG
Buffalo State $44,495
Canton $42,450
Cortland $60,086
Morrisville $49,616
Oswego $57,281
Plattsburgh $80,779
Potsdam $62,024

Cortland's average would be about even with Potsdam but they saved quite a bit of money between their new coach and the previous.

Elmira is a private school so I can't find that data as easily as I can the SUNYs, but I imagine Jackson is probably somewhere between the 60k and 80k, unless Elmira is being overly generous with their private school tuition and paying a HC with four years experience at a rate far above the highest salary on here which would be Houle who is 13 seasons in. Based on that and Sean's figures I imagine Jackson made a significant bump.

Thank you Sean for all the work you did. It is very eye opening as to how much money is spent on women's hockey.

Agreed! thanks to Sean and a special mention to Scott. It really is quite something to get a better understanding of how much these schools are investing.

Thank you both as well. :) The amount spent on women's hockey is less than what is spent on men's hockey. I've compiled the hockey related financials from the EADAs for all the private schools and for 21 of the 29 public schools, but I'm still waiting for replies to my FOIA requests from 8 schools and the 2 military academies. Four of the eight schools I'm waiting on sponsor women's hockey and as only 13 public schools sponsor it I would like to have their information before making all the information available. However, if I don't receive the information soon I will use the limited EADA information for the time being and update the information as I receive the reports.

Re: Coaching Carousel

Just noticed that Jess Koizumi is no longer listed on Ohio State roster... Anyone know anything?

No news on the Penn State position....the posting must have closed some time ago. You would think that a decision has been made?

From the Penn State website via the AHCA job postings board:

Head Coach 3 (Head Coach Women's Ice Hockey)
Campus/Location:University Park Campus
Date Announced:04/21/2017
Date Closing: open until filled
Job Number:70820
Work Unit:Intercollegiate Athletics Department:Women's Ice Hockey
Full/Part Time:Full–Time

Job posting went up less than a month ago and is still open for applications/resumes and will be open until filled. 30 days is typically the minimum posting time for a public university job but that varies by school and state.

I think Scott_TG was right a while back: "The way hiring requirements are, especially at public universities, it could be they are required to do a national search before formally naming him the head coach."

I'm sure that's what Penn State is doing right now - just letting the job posting float for as long as they're required to have it open, but not looking past Dean Jackson.

Re: Coaching Carousel

Why leave Ohio State for a lateral move UVM?

Falling out between coaches?

Maybe Muzerall is trying to build UND south. Replace current players with UND players and current coaches with UND coaches.

4 players left and 3 were freshman.
