Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

Missed the point. If China and India do nothing, the rest of us are left holding the bag.

We've already rescinded our leadership on the topic. We even eliminated safety rules put in after the BP spill. We have zero credibility on this topic and you blaming China and India is just rich. Oh, and per capita were actually number two.

The US cares about profit. Not the planet. That's obvious.

It's almost like it's a global problem requiring global solutions, and as one of the wealthiest countries in the world maybe we should be leading the way in providing them. We didn't get rich in isolation. I must have missed the bible verse that says "We got ours, F all y'all, and your smelly kids!"

"We got ours, F all y'all, and your smelly kids!"

That's America's Slogan.

And what's most fascinating about it is that Green Energy could be the new profit motive. But, no. Fossil Fuels need to destroy the planet comes first.

Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

Sure. Let's just blame them and not do anything. Good plan.
China also has had rapid mobilization of solar panels and I believe India has taken similar measures. So basically they've done more positive than our country.

Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

China certainly is not doing nothing. They are being far more proactive than we are.

THis. China is positioning themselves as a green tech leader. If we don't get with the f-cking program quick, we're going to miss out on a 100 billion dollar a decade business. I could even be short by an order of magnitude there. We do NOT want to miss this boat. It would be like us saying, "Nah, f-ck that oily black stuff. We're going to stick with wood."

Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

And the thing is the Fossil Fuel companies are researching and developing the tech too because they know the change is coming but they are being incentivized to not push further. We could be way farther along with this if we just left it alone.

I'm sure the .01% f-cks who are the leading investors in fossil fuels are also the leading investors in renewable energy just like the .01% f-cks who were the leading investors in cigarettes were also the leading investors in cancer drugs.

Vertical monopoly. We aren't humans, we're just their install base.

China has already taken more initiative than the US if they haven't already have surpassed the US on many fronts when it comes to renewable sources.

"When the house was on fire he ran to the river, but when he saw the neighbors weren't hauling water, he stopped, too. Nobody ever got over on him! Then everybody, including he and his kids, died. Requiescant in pace."

Yes lets allow the caps to melt so we can ship things more efficiently!!

Mike Pompeo Praises Climate Change in the Arctic as ‘New Opportunities for Trade

“Steady reductions in sea ice are opening new passageways and new opportunities for trade,” Pompeo told the room. “This could potentially slash the time it takes to travel between Asia and the West by as much as 20 days. Arctic sea lanes could come before—could come [sic] the 21s century Suez and Panama Canals.”

I literally have lost all attempts at trying to comprehend the mentality that leads to such monumentally ignorant, selfish and warped points of view. They will not stop until we're all dead, or at least until all our grandchildren are doomed to live underground.

Is it really because they truly believe Armageddon is around the corner and life as we know it is coming to an end anyway?

When Alaska took part of Russia with it, I imagined Alaska saying “Yoink!”
