I, for one, wouldn't want to bash Marvin. He'd get all angry and hit my head...he has a history you know.

I'm not defending Frattin. He took a stupid penalty that didn't need to be taken. The refs on the ice got the call wrong and the WCHA issued further punishment. I'm fine with that.

Good. It is difficult to defend a guy with a well known reputation for his off the ice behavior and intentionally chose to go head hunting to jump start his team.

Good. It is difficult to defend a guy with a well known reputation for his off the ice behavior and intentionally chose to go head hunting to jump start his team.

I actually liked his other method of jump starting his team better...scoring goals, which he's done plenty of recently.

I can accept that argument; however, why would that make it less viscious? Furthermore, that isn't what happened here. Wehrs' head didn't hit the boards and it didn't hit the ice with any velocity at all.

You must have better video than the rest of us, since the still frames and replay of the hit don't seem that conclusive on the head contact or factors (stick, elbow, leap etc.) Your level of specificity in what you see is a bit suspect unless you have better photos. If so, please share. The wcha suspended frattin but avoided to clarify why, saying its was a number of factors, suggesting they didnt see it clearly either. My guess on the the actual factors:

- He charged wehrs (this much is very clear)
- He hit Wehrs hard (indeed)
- Wehrs was injured (unfortunate)
- Huge pile on of whining and complaining (irrelevant)

The WCHA appears to be heavily influenced by the outcome (injury) and the whining, and less influenced by the details of the contact (if they were why wouldnt they say?).

I'm not complaining about the suspension. I'm sure those who want payback on the Sioux for whatever reason will continue to cry it should have been harsher and those Sioux fans who lack objectivity will complain the suspension in unfair. At least its done.

I don't know what pictures or videos some of you are looking at. I have the FSN broadcast saved on my DVR. I really can't figure out what many of you can't see. This was a very ugly, cheap, and dirty hit that made direct contact to the head. Rivalry aside, I really don't know how any of you are defending him on this. Even his comments regarding the hit do not sound like he has any regrets for what he did. That's fine I guess, just don't try to tell me Frattin shouldn't be held 100% accountable for this. Everything about that hit was deliberate and meant to cause harm. For that, I don't believe 1 game was enough, and Frattin should be viewed in the same light as Paukovich and Marvin.

Are you serious about this? Are you basing this off of a photo someone posted? Does anyone even know if that photo was the result of a check, or was it just Zajac and Helgeson simply falling down in the corner?

Photos don't ever tell the whole story.

If you are saying that looking at the third photo posted on Schlossman's blog (which you can find from the CHN website) where Wehr looks like he is about to be decapitated by Frattin that you can't find evidence of a head shot sufficient to reasonably cause a concussion, then you never will.
