Last nights Beavers game against Mankato could have been a different game all together if it hadn't been for a Major penalty in the Third against Matt Read. I agree he shouldn't have touched the guy because it wasn't key to even hit him, but a Major penalty for elbowing, come on. The problem was that the refs didn't call a single penelty in the game until the third and definatley should have. Once they called the 5 minute major, that gave a huge advantage to the Mavericks who were able to capatilize on it 3 times, had it just been 2 minutes though, Bemidji actually killed off the first two minutes of that major and would have had full strength again. I hope the refs for tonights game don't just decide to call a couple peneltys here and there and make it a huge changing point in a game that both teams played equally up till that point. Besides that point I thought it was a very well played game by both teams and either could have come out with the win! Good Luck Beavers Tonight!!! Lets Get The Split

Another tough game for the Beavers tonight in a 3-2 loss. The Mavs played great D all weekend suffocating any rushes that the Beavers had. Pretty defensive on both sides all weekend, with goals being scored when the window was open. Just halfway through the year for the Beavers now i believe, and the xmas break is coming at a good time, get the guys rested and ready for the 2nd half of the year, opening up with 2 on the road at Western Michigan.

so.... since it is christmas break and for myself I am glad to see a break. What do you want for Christmas for your team? Myself, I want to see our power kill and power play back to the level it was before. I would also like for Santa to bring BSU a sweep against Duluth in the new year.

Big downer however as it looks like Annesley is hurt again. Doesn't look good.

Raise your hand if you thought Bemidji State would be a top-10 team and be tied for the nation lead in victories after the first half of the year, with an at-large birth possible in the absurdly early PWR *

* Assuming you count the holiday tourneys as second-half, BSU and FSU have played 18, Miami 20, and Quinni 17, and all have 13 wins with only the holiday tourneys left before 2010... This also putting a positive spin back on the season after the last weekends sweep.

If you would have told me at the beginning of the season BSU would be 13-4-1 and a perfect 8-0-0 in the CHA, I would have took it and ran. But now, last weekend seems like such a downer.......

BSU dropped from #5 to #10 in the INCH power rankings and from #4 to #10 in the USCHO poll. USA Today will come out later this afternoon.
