CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Even if BSU was to lose the CHA tourney, they will probably make the tourney as an at large bid.
I'd buy that right about now, if today were selection Sunday, they'd have to be in. My only question would be what happens if/when Niagara/RMU/UAH waters down the computer rankings when there's nothing left but conference play.

If BSU should tumble somehow in the Tournament (unlikely as it is right now anyway), it would be great to see two CHA entries in the NCAA's.

That's where you get the beauty (controversy) of the asterix on the RPI.* Had this rule been in place back in 2000 for Niagara, who know's how hight they might have deserved (not how high they might have been placed)...

Point being - If BSU keeps winning (even if it's against CHA teams with poor winning percentages), their RPI, and therefore PWR, should keep them at least near the top...

*Team's RPI has been adjusted to remove negative effect from defeating weak opponent.

Ah, makes sense now. You can tell some of us have never really had to pay much attention to RPI/KRACH/PWR before. :o

Two things help the Beavs here:

1. The CHA's non-insular schedule. Not only do we play more OOC games [which generally helps RPI], but we have seen CHA teams playing major opponents [which helps RPI].

2. If BSU was going to see this, we'd already see it with 4 GP against UAH, who were good in October and ... not so much in November. But we're not.

Oh, and Mike ... I take RMU, RIT, and the Beavs for the sweeparooni.

RMU @ NU = NU The Purps have figured them out...
NU @ RIT = RIT RIT wants it more...
MSU-M @ BSU = Split Just a feeling... besides, they split with Minnie too.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Niagara over Robert Morris
RIT over Niagara
BSU and MSUM: Split. I just am still not 100% sold on this team (at about 97%). They knock off Miami and then lay an egg against Ohio State. They put up an 8 spot on Niagara, and then play a painful game to watch on Saturday. MSUM split with the Goofers, as did Bemidji. Just too many things going through my mind to call this a Beaver sweep. They will have senior Chris Peluso back, which will help a lot. I hope the Guys in Green prove me wrong and go into Christmas Break 15-2-1!
