CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

UML 3 - UAH 1 The Chargers won the first period but lost the other two. They seemed to tire out and weren't finishing their checks midway through the second period. They seemed to lose a little speed or UML made some major corrections after the first period and took UAH's game away. That old faithful trap of Blaise's Niagara days made its reappearance too. Same two tomorrow night, same time too.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

As I said, it's amazing that the boys can go to Colorado, play as well as they did at altitude, but come home and look like they're sucking wind after the first period. At least Niagara is doing worse than us.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

That's the first poor game I've seen the boys play all year.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Wasn't 100% poor... only 66%. I thought the Chargers outplayed them all over the ice 1st period. That momentum disappeared somewhere in the intermission though, and the boys came out looking embarassingly sluggish to open the second, even on a power play. Didn't even look like we woke up until the last minute of regulation.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Beavers played good through one period tonight, though after going down 2-1, and blowing a huge chance on consecutive PP's including almost 2 minutes of 5 on 3 with no goals spelled doom for the Beavs. Hoping for a Beaver win tomorrow, but they have to get more shots on net, and have to quit playing so sloppy, too many penalties tonight. The lone Beaver goal by George was a pretty nice one though :D

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

I was disappointed in very sloppy play as well. Bad passes thay brought the puck out of the zone, mishandling the puck without even a man on you up in your face, and letting an open man stand right next to you in front of your goalie. You just cant do these things against any D1 school let alone the gophers. I expect more control and Defense tommorrow night. Good Luck Beavers supporting you no matter what.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Millsy - Haven't seen or heard from jac in awhile. Have you? If so, how's he dong. Fox still working him hard?

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Love it! Too bad they couldnt have pulled out the sweep...that would have been great.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Douglas, I haven't seen or heard from him lately. FOX must have running!

Dugas is looking solid tonight. Bakala looked good last night too and if the Green would have played in front of him like they have tonight, I think it would have been a closer game.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Huge split for the Beavers this weekend. Didn't think we would have won 6-2 tonight though! :D

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

That's a solid win for the Beavers. Dugas moves to 2-0 with two goals against in his college career.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Well that was interesting.

Especially the odd sight of all the disgusted Gopher fans leaving after it was 6-1. I've seen similar at the Final Five a few times, but never thought I'd see it at Mariucci.

I've got a story on the game, photo gallery and a video postgame press conference with Tom Serratore all accessible through the above link.

Thanks for the link.

While I am pleased with the split we had a chance for the sweep if BSU could have executed the 5x3 Saturday. Moreover, it's sweet to use words like sweep in a positive fashion when speaking of playing the Gophers.

For those in attendance, was BSU well represented in the stands?

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

BSU has moved up one spot in the INCH Power Rankings from #10 to #9.

BSU has dropped one spot in the USCHO poll from #7 to #8.

We will see what happens when the USAToday poll comes out.
