In case anyone was wondering, the BSU football team is not playing in the post season. Not due to their record per se but due to playing with an ineligible player for 9 games because of a mistake by the athletic department dealing with a transfer student's eligibility status.

Anyways, now we can focus on hockey. I hope the Beavers can prove they're worthy of the recent attention in the polls this weekend! I haven't seen them play this year so I don't know just how good they are. :o

Yeah, **** shame that it was an office error that wipes out the season for the Beavers. Oh well, they're young and will have a lot more experiance coming back for next year.

Beavers tie and win

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

I think the beavers look better this year than they did last year, with the exception that I think Daulton was better in goal. Not to take anything away from Bakala as he has looked very solid so far. The Beavers have three well balanced lines this year, have all been skating very fast, and have played much more physical this year. At least they have at Home as i didnt make it out to Michigan Or Bama. Matt Read just keeps to be getting better and better which is scary becasue he already was one heck of a hockey player! I was also vert impressed with how fast George is when he needs to be. The way he raced up the outside along the boards last friday setting up the goal by Read was amazing. Go Beavs!!!

Do you guys think that BSU has enough speed at the blue line to keep up with the speed/skill of MN? Plus the fact that they're on olympic ice?

Yes. I picked a split but would not be stunned by a Beavers sweep. Actually, I'd be delighted by one. [Mainly because I am ready for the rematch in Huntsville in March, and I want to sweep those Dirty Beavers and get UAH's PWR up.]

Can they? Yes. Will they, given that they're on the road and playing an opponent that probably needs the points worse than BSU does? That's a different question altogether.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Matt Dalton has been reassigned to the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins because of his sub par performance so far this season. I wish he would have stayed one more year at BSU.

The Bemidji Regional Event Center is starting to take shape.

Had the chance to take a tour today of what's there and produced a video on it. Not much in locker room/office area to speak of, but some of the stands around what will be the rink are up.

If all my video encoding goes well, the thing should be available in HD.

Anyway, you can check out the video our web site.

Tomorrow I'll be out at practice to talk to the team about the upcoming series with the Gophers. I'll let you know when that video is posted.
