CCHA v3.0 - AU BGSU BSU FSU LSSU MSU MTU NMU & Special Deserters - The UST Tommies

I hope the CCHA knows how embarrassing this is. Almost like bringing teams back to the ice after presenting the trophy and making them play again.
Someone has to be the test case for the NCAA. After all, they did come up with a rule after that whole scene. Maybe they will come up with another one after this?

Shouldn’t it be embarrassing for teams with decades of DI experience and multiple national championships to be in a league where a team three years removed from playing D3 MIAC hockey is playing in the league’s tournament championship game?

Unfortunately the NCAA is now focused and aligned on the big schools and top schools in college hockey and sports in general. I have been on here squawking about the injustice of CHL players and the portal/NIL is not geared for the CCHA/Atlantic teams. The big schools will explode with $ and recruits/portal pick ups. The CCHA/Atlantic Winners, well the buck stops there and everyone knows it. Some one has to stop the madness in college sports and within the NCAA. The CCHA/Atlantic do not have the big TV network showing their finals so there goes your media/consumer relevancy.

The very night UND announced their new head coach, other teams in the NCHC and B1g started showering their players with money so as to prevent them from leaving. IMHO unless or until the CCHA starts putting players under contract we will have these problems. Also Sasha Boivert from und who is in the portal. rumor is he is heading to a big payday with BC since their payroll got a lot smaller with two highly paid guys leaving.

Sure it is. So what's your point?

I'm kind of optimistic about the CHL stuff given Lake State's location. If the Lakers can utilize that well, and early signs are showing LSSU can, it fixes the problem that Lake State had in the recent past with grad transfers and homegrown talent leaving.

I don't think TV really matters all that much, either. The Big Ten Network used to show lots of games with the B1G schools, but that quickly stopped. College hockey is geared toward online streaming for the most dedicated fans. I don't really like the CCHA's current streaming situation. I liked Flo better, but it is what it is. I don't think it makes a great difference in the success of LSSU or not.

I feel good overall, though. That big-time annual recurring donation really brings me hope that the Lakers are serious in this era. There is money there to compete in the CCHA.

What's the scoop, performance wise, of this player? Seems like a nice addition for ASU.

"Hearing Logan Morrell (6-3, 194-pound, right-handed center) is heading to ASU.He grew up in Mesa and played for the Jr. Coyotes.Morrell was named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team for the 2024-25 season. He will attend Boston Bruins development camp this summer.

Michigan Tech's Logan Morrell is in the transfer portal6-foot-3 center had 11-10-21 in 32 games as a freshman"

Morrell played better this season than he did in his entire junior hockey career, which obviously no one anticipated. Consensus among Tech fans is that Logan benefited quite a bit from playing on a line with Stiven Sardarian. Obviously it worked out for him, getting an offer from his hometown NCHC school, but it's just as likely that he's peaked early and hit his production ceiling. Time will tell.

Sounds like sour grapes.
