Cars: 2015

Dennis Collins did the re-build and has a show on youtube called Coffee Walk.
The mechanic I mentioned previously thinks it'll go for a million.

Wonder what kept it that "low"

Compared to other exotics, it's still a BMW. Instead of a cool V12 or screaming V8, it's got a hyped up normal I6. So even in spite of it's decent racing pedigree, it's not nearly as desirable as a Ferrari or even a Lamborghini that is from the same era.

That being said, $525k for a late 70's "supercar" is actually pretty darned good.

Just to throw my hat in this conversation automotive engineering & technology was my career. Also my cousin recently retired as an engineer at Ford and you don't want to know what's coming and it all due to Obama and his green allies determination to eliminate the internal combustion engine. The entire automotive industry is being forced to build cars & trucks with unproven and undeveloped technology.

Funny about that. maybe your cousin and I met. I also know what is coming. EV's are coming. They have been here for a long time, too.

But at the same time, I don't see the end of the combustion engine. And the "unproven" technology is over 20 years old now, so it's hardly undeveloped. The EV mandate includes HEV, and even MHEVs along with BEVs all as part of EVs. As battery technology develops and EV's get better, hybrids also get a lot better.

Some day, battery technology will actually be good enough- who knows. But to blame Obama? And then not include the rest of the world? Let alone, the OEM's have all fully bought into the future.

Lastly, all technology was "unproven and undeveloped" at some point. Every little single bit of it. It gets worked out. Really, your post would be appropriate back in the 70's when the Clean Air Act came out. And that's turned out to be just fine- cars are cleaner, more efficient, and more powerful than they ever have been. And at the same time, they are considerably more reliable than they ever have been.

The Simpsons has been making fun of existing EVs for like 20 years. To say it's new? Lol

Unoroven? Like, it's literally the opposite. The only thing that's failed is the marketing departments and the American people's resolve because of of wormbrains like hockeybuckeye swallowing the right's rapala.

You seem to have selective reading. My career for over 36 years was in automotive technology & engineering. Do you even know how to change a spark plug? I can design an entire powertrain. I know everything the automotive industry is doing and why. If you want to voice ignorance go to Facebook, that's what it's there for.

Cool. And I'm sure you couldn't make a buggy-whip!

None of what you said makes your opinion on the future of cars any more valid than mine. You're just an obsolete but useful idiot.
