Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

What is it with these Ayn Rand lunatics and their ****ing trains?

C'mon.
You swung through the hangin' breaking ball.

You could toss Trump in with Mussolini with the trains on time thing. That was Mussolini's promise*. Trump's playing the same "tell 'em what they want to hear" game, but won't deliver**.

*Spoiler: They didn't.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Are we sure that echo chamber isn't NY, MA, and CA?
I heard this weekend that 1/3 of the Dem caucus in Congress is from those three states.

Are we sure that the echo chamber isn't defined by I-495 as it traverses Arlington and Alexandria and Bethesda and College Park?
Washington DC voted 96/4 for Mrs. Clinton.

Michael Moore tried to warn the Dems and was ignored.
It's still all based on turnout. And that's why all of them are getting what they deserved. For those of us that did turn out? We just have to suffer because our like minded folks decided to sit this one out. Evidently they weren't around when George W. Bush directly affected all of our lives. Apparently they weren't around when Bullying (which is what Trump is) was accepted and the victim was always blamed.

There is no mandate. Yet I've heard them say there is now over 100 times in various media. So, I guess there will be. That being said, if the Dem side had just voted there wouldn't be an issue right now. The Senate, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court would have been in kinder, gentler hands.

I neither feel sorry, nor empathy for anyone who has their life affected by these results. NONE. You reap what you sow. I warned everyone over and over again, especially Rover that the hate for Hillary was strong. Should not have mattered. We now have a racist, misogynist, xenophobic bully in the White House.

We have reaped what we have sewn. We have gotten what we deserved. My only solace is I participated and voted against it in the most constructive way possible because I voted for the only thing that could have defeated it.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

As I understand it the debt isn't a huge issue yet, we still can borrow as much as we want on 0% interest and have a great credit rating. But you're right you don't want to increase it to the point where those things aren't true anymore.

The minute that interest rate goes up from 0% it's over.
Even 1% on $19,000,000,000,000.00 will tip everything over.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

You're correct that rhetorically it is ridiculous, because the dude is so racist that he can't even comprehend that the slave in his ****ed up scenario is an actual human being with basic civil rights.

Maybe he views marriage and slavery in similar light.
Face it, would you want to be either to him?

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

George W. Bush. People are so naive and no ONE learns from history. We're all going to get exactly what we deserve.

Day one: Don't judge Trump yet, he might turn out to be a good guy. Year two: Don't judge Trump yet, let history judge him. Year ten: Trump who...yeah, he was terrible but why talk about him he's ancient history...here's the new disaster you should vote for.

After W, didn't everyone say...well at least the GOP will fix itself and we won't have to deal with that again?

I thought that was a given, but I guess I forgot who I was dealing with.

Are you saying someone might have recently been running a side business in government while in government?

I have to say it: At least Palin was a mayor and a governor; she has more government experience than her would-be boss.

But she's quit every job halfway through.

Even 1% on $19,000,000,000,000.00 will tip everything over.

About $6 trillion of that is one section of the government owung another sector of the government. So, what is owed to extra governmental entities is around $13 trillion.

1% interest is $130,000,000,000. That's not chicken feed. At 3% (what old savings bonds earned), you're talking serious money.

NY, MA, and CA combined make up about a sixth of the country's population. Since half of the country is Democratic, having one third of their representation from those states would fit with simple demographics.

Cows don't vote. Even given it's relative underrepresentation, California still represents more people than the entire upper Midwest combined.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Correct. Every ad I saw from Mrs. Clinton in the weeks up to the election was attacking Trump, no policy. Even in the debates things went more personal than policy.

She and her campaign got suckered by the schoolyard bully.

No she didn't. Every time Trump opened his mouth, his campaign suffered and the polls showed it. Why? Because he behaved like a child. We know now the polls were ultimately wrong, but his manager was hired because she was a poll expert. He is an idiot, and his behavior showed it. Until the last three weeks and the FBI disclosure, EVERYBODY thought he would lose by historical amounts. Whatever you criticize Clinton for, she talked issues FAR more than Trump, who seemed to only be able to hurl grade school insults. He didn't sucker anybody. For a while in the primaries, people thought that might be happening, but his awful campaign after being nominated showed that he was not being an idiot in order to pull the wool over anyone's eyes--that's just who he is.

We don't yet know how bad (or good) a president Trump will be, I and I hope he turns out to be a good one, but don't continue to contort yourself into believing he was a rational choice.

No. Which is why the one where I have the choice to be is okay, and the one where I don't have the choice to be is not.

Why aren't we hearing both viewpoints from you about how crashing our credit rating and paying higher interest on our pile of debt is not a big deal? I'm sure there's lots of valid opinions out there about how it doesn't matter.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

What happened last Tuesday?

- What always happens (more likeable wins) ... and consider that, really consider that, for a second ... < South Park "GD v. TS" reference here >

- People in the Rust Belt voted their pocketbooks. They were hurt under Carter (double-digit interest rates) and they haven't recovered since 2008 (per Bill Clinton speech that I previously referenced). They may be wrong, but it's what they believe. My goodness - Trump won WI, MI, OH, and PA. Has any R done that since Reagan. (Reagan won because of the Rust Belt too.)

- Who. Showed. Up. <-- You're all sick of me saying that, but it's true.

- Mrs. Clinton couldn't hold Mr. Obama's line - Look at all the "Obama won twice" counties that went for Trump! Great fricken flying Spaghetti Monster -- one of those is the Spirit Lake Reservation in ND!
Worse? The Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Reservations in SD are in that collection also! Reservations are D strongholds even moreso than urban centers. Another is Steele County, ND -- trust me, I know that one well. My relatives live there and they are staunch Ds ... but apparently they did what I couldn't stomach.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

I thought that was a given, but I guess I forgot who I was dealing with.

Don't overthink it; go to the fundamentals. You could tie Trump to Hitler with Mussolini references. (Too many don't know George H.W. Bush, much less ol' Benito.)

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

God, my job has become awful. This is the first time I've minded being in an office that's 80% knuck.
