Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Cows don't vote. Even given it's relative underrepresentation, California still represents more people than the entire upper Midwest combined.

Yup. And that's why CA has 55 EVs and MT, ND, SD and WY combined have 12.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Everyone should watch Jon Oliver...good lord he nails it in his finale!

And Palin sucks...and might be the dumbest person to hold elected office ever. She is Donald Trump without the ability to read people.

- Who. Showed. Up. <-- You're all sick of me saying that, but it's true.

We're sick of you saying it because it's one of those statements that is true yet utterly meaningless.

Did you know that the Broncos won because they scored more points? It's all about which team scores. And the Broncos scored just enough more than the Saints. Which. Team. Scores.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

We don't yet know how bad (or good) a president Trump will be, I and I hope he turns out to be a good one, but don't continue to contort yourself into believing he was a rational choice.

He wasn't a rational choice. I left that section blank.

Remember: When you choose the lesser of two evils, you still chose evil.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

No. Which is why the one where I have the choice to be is okay, and the one where I don't have the choice to be is not.

Why aren't we hearing both viewpoints from you about how crashing our credit rating and paying higher interest on our pile of debt is not a big deal? I'm sure there's lots of valid opinions out there about how it doesn't matter.

I take it you missed where I said rates going to just 1% crashes it all ... (scroll up) ....

I did. I want to hear both sides. Why aren't you presenting the side that says, "Who cares if rates go up". We need to analyze and have thoughtful discussion about it.

When you use false equivalencies you don't have to accept the burden of choice. Degree counts.

One hundred and fourteen thousand votes. Three states.

If the voters don't show up, there's a why. If they do, there's a why. Wanna win? Score the runs; show up.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

So you're admitting you have no point?

My point is when such a large portion of any organization is "coastally isolated" they may miss what's going on elsewhere. That happened this time. Heck, Mrs. Clinton spent more time in NC than in WI and MI. The Ds were so infatuated with penetration into the "SEC", (c) Kepler, that they forgot to mind the base, cover the core, do the fundamentals.

The other side would be this:
What if the economy is expanding enough to cover the extra expenses. It's possible, but it would take some masterful economic management. I'd love to hear someone explain what that would require. I'd love to hear that point of view.

And yet the supposed fiscally conservative party is the one who plans to cut taxes and raise the debt. Good call.

I said in my earlier post it is 100% the wrong move and doesn't represent conservatism as I know it. The most troubling thing about the increase in the debt in recent times is it hasn't been to fund anything of note. It has been more or less because those in Washington haven't been able to make tough decisions.

We care about budgets during Democratic administrations. No one cares when a Republican is President. The reason why probably is George Sr. who was bounced out of office because he actually cared about paying for things as he went. His predecessor and his son didn't care one bit about blowing a hole in the budget, they just wanted their toys.

Trump is as conservative as Rover.

Next question.

Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

What happened last Tuesday?

- What always happens (more likeable wins) ... and consider that, really consider that, for a second ... < South Park "GD v. TS" reference here >

- People in the Rust Belt voted their pocketbooks. They were hurt under Carter (double-digit interest rates) and they haven't recovered since 2008 (per Bill Clinton speech that I previously referenced). They may be wrong, but it's what they believe. My goodness - Trump won WI, MI, OH, and PA. Has any R done that since Reagan. (Reagan won because of the Rust Belt too.)

- Who. Showed. Up. <-- You're all sick of me saying that, but it's true.

- Mrs. Clinton couldn't hold Mr. Obama's line - Look at all the "Obama won twice" counties that went for Trump! Great fricken flying Spaghetti Monster -- one of those is the Spirit Lake Reservation in ND!
Worse? The Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Reservations in SD are in that collection also! Reservations are D strongholds even moreso than urban centers. Another is Steele County, ND -- trust me, I know that one well. My relatives live there and they are staunch Ds ... but apparently they did what I couldn't stomach.

Its funny how conservatives keep pronouncing this an electorate mandate for Trump...when Hillary actually won the popular vote.

...and even then, the US election was influenced by Russia via illegal hacks and changed by Comey via an announcement that illegally broke the Hatch law - officially the 'Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities'.

Yes, and if Trump had lost we'd be in court over all that.

The most telling thing to me that Trump has said is he has not backed off of trying to put Hillary in jail.

That was no mandate.

Russia had as much influence as voter fraud.

And if you look at Mrs. Clinton's own polls, her numbers had negative slope in the 48 hours before Comey ruined his and the FBI's reputations.

There are tons and tons of excuses. The main one is that Mrs. Clinton couldn't hold WI, MI, OH, or PA and it was well within her reach.
