Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

He also seems to not care a whit how much he's disliked, which points to a sociopathy/personality disorder... even more so than most politicians, I mean. He actually scares me more than Trump, who is a simple entitled blowhard looking for power to wield and adoration from the masses (in fact I know someone who is so much like Trump that I almost feel I can understand him). Cruz though, might be a serial killer.

Cruz' arrogance combined with his fascist dogma combined with his certifiably insane Christian Millenarianism is a truly scary combination. You don't give the launch codes to guys who can't wait to get at their 72 virgins. He seems to be exactly the sort of nut who thinks he was born to bring about the Second Coming.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

I agree with about zero of Ted Cruz. But the guy does have a pretty incredible story. From wiki:

The family lived in Calgary's St. Andrews Heights neighborhood and later the affluent Elbow Park neighborhood until his father suddenly abandoned the family and moved to Texas in 1974 (in essence, he started in a broken home). Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1992. While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society's Debate Panel and won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship.

After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree. While at Harvard Law, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review. Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant". At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

I haven't much of a clue about national politics, and I know you don't win the WH without big money--far more than you can get from Joe Murrica. But won't Cruz wear this like a badge of honor--that the old political and academic guard cannot stand him because he doesn't act the way they think he should act and will not play by their rules? Again, I know he needs big money to play, but I would think he will just pitch all this a proof that he's the only one out there who has shown he is not sleeping with the enemy.

Exactly. I'm sure this was all carefully planned as well. The only thing Cruz didn't plan for, and nobody did, was Donald Trump. Were it not for that, he'd have put Iowa away already and after a decent finish in NH he'd have killed it in the SEC primary. I too have zero agreement with Cruz, but his campaign has done all they can for the guy. I did however overestimate his own political skills. Its not just that Trump has dominated the conversation in the GOP primary, its that he's the whole conversation. Nobody else has brought up anything of note to drive the bus on that side. For all of Cruz' Ivy League pedigree and debating champion chops, one would think he wouldn't walk into a haymaker like Trump crushed him with over the "New York values" comment. How he couldn't see that was going to get 9-11'd was beyond me, but that so far is Trump's best moment of the campaign at Cruz' expense.

The two words everybody who was interviewed for that story about Cruz agreed on were "brilliant" and "creepy." I'm not sure, "he's a jerk, but he's a smart jerk" is going to work as a campaign slogan. Maybe "he somebody you'd like to throw a beer at."

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

Tom Delay says his "friends" at the FBI are ready to indict Hillary for the email scandal. I hope they allow you conjugal visits Rover ;)

(no I dont believe a word of it, and in reality it will only help the Shrill)

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

A Texas grand jury investigating Planned Parenthood cleared it of all charges and instead indicted the creators of the smear campaign videos.

Maybe Texas ain't so bad after all...

When you're on the same side as Tom DeLay, Handy it might be time to rethink your position. :D

I'm going to be curious to hear the evidence relating to the charge that the video makers participated in a purchase of fetal material or organs. Because that was their point, wasn't it, that PP was selling this material? If the video creators in fact did the purchasing, who did the selling? I assume what we will hear is that PP doesn't "sell" the material, and didn't sell it to these undercover filmmakers, but PP "accepts reimbursement of its costs" or something like that.

Goes to show you though that you can't just violate the law even if you think there is some justification for it by trying to catch someone else violating the law (unless you are an undercover cop in a massage parlor, but that's another story.)

He was indicted for offering to buy the organs. There was no actual purchase made, because that never happened.

Anyone who's ever played DnD knows there's a difference between intelligence and wisdom. Is it too late for a nerd alert?

Cruz is undoubtedly intelligent. But in small part due to his age and large part due to his opponent, he's facing a really tough task. Cruz will be sailing into a raging hurricane if/when he takes on Trump in the upcoming weeks.

What makes me laugh at loud is how the lamestream media dubbed this "the deepest GOP field ever" chock full of "rising stars". :D Has there ever been a bigger kiss of death than being labeled a rising star in the GOP? Wasn't Bobby Jindal a "rising star" at one point? I think space cadet is a better description. So, Walker, Christie, Rubio, Cruz, etc are all getting stomped by.....Donald Trump?!?! Yeah...

Meh, the only people I heard say that were GOP surrogates and hirelings like Charles Krauthammer and Michael Steele. The pundits were actually right about this: they've been saying this Republican field is a sh-tshow since last summer.
