Even if Bernie wins 50-49 and goes on to win NH, he's still going to lose 45 of the next 48 states. Iowa is easily a top 10 state for him, and more likely a top 5 state, and he'll have barely squeaked out a win.

He'll win NH, VT, Oregon...maybe MN? Maybe Washington and Maine? After that, I don't see it.

No, I understand demographics. The first two states are teed up for him, being full of white upper class liberals in the democratic party.

He hasn't made any inroads with moderates or minorities, which make up far more of the party in almost every other state.

Yep, which is why even though I support him I always said he had zero chance. (and since Minne aint going Red I can always vote my conscience)

Cruz winning is great for The Shrill though...he is less human than she is.

Bernie now down just .2 with 10% to go. Unfortunately I think Des Moines probably has the most to go.

Rubio can easily win the nomination if this and a good NH performance clears the field, which I think will happen. If it comes down to a three-way race between him, Trump, and Cruz, he will have the backing of every billionaire and the rest of the party apparatus. Because Trump isn't a real Republican and Cruz is probably the most personally despised person in Washington.

Whelp....the good news is that my vote will count in November. The bad news is that means I'm moving to a swing state. At least it's not Texas again.

Maybe but I dont think his act will work as the Clown Show widdles down. Now he is mostly ignored but as the loudmouths leave his falseness and ability to act like an empty suit will ring true. I think Cruz is the guy because everyone knows he is slime and just dont seem to care.

Cruz and Trump suffer from being almost no one's second pick - though combined they did get about 50% of the GOP caucus votes in Iowa. Rubio is almost everyone's second pick. Which means he's only going to gain steam as the field winnows. The caveat to that is no one knows who Trump's supporters would go to if he drops out at some point.

Those aren't vote totals on the Dem side, those are expected representative delegates awarded (who then go on to a series of meetings to pick county, state, and ultimately the national delegates who actually go to the convention).

If a candidate has less than 15% support at a given precinct, he or she is "not viable" and their supporters no longer count. They then pick another candidate who is viable.

My guess is this is so close because most of O'Malley's supporters, who probably account for 3 or so percent of the initial vote, swing to Sanders as their second choice. Which makes sense since O'Malley's only real calling card is that he's not Clinton.
