Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

keep seeing his commercials. can't believe he still has money to waste on those.

It seems like most of the Jeb! ads I see aren't actually his, they're by the pro-Jeb! PAC that is nominally independent of his campaign.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

You assume anyone around here is thinking they're going to get liberal ideals? I'm certainly not. I only know one thing. One party is tolerable and the other is unacceptable and psycho. I'll take tolerable any day. That's what Obama gave me and that's what Hillary will give me.

Get it now?

And unlike you I'm not taking any chances. I don't care what state I'm in. Nader once was once too much. If our liberal neighbors to the east of us can elect the biggest ******** in the universe and we can elect our own in Tim Pawlenty, I leave nothing to chance.

You probably believed we were getting 12 inches of snow last night too ;)

I am still waiting for you to put your money where your mouth is. Show some backbone instead of pulling your Chicken Little impression.

Every time you predict someone is going to lead to some GOP revolution you go down in flames. Please keep predicting GOP winners you are their bad luck charm. :D Keep beating the Nader drum too it is so cute when you and Mr. Hillary Rover do that.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

Exactly. Plutocracy is a blight on the Democratic party, but for the Republicans it's the whole mission statement. Now mix in the proto-fascism rising out of the nether regions of the far right and I will choose a path that's clear: I will choose She. Hill.

Sorry but the lesser of two evils is still evil. I applaud your ability to plug your nose and justify voting for Hillary but I will never do it. I cant pivot like that. It doesnt matter, she wont even have to sweat it out because the Clown Show is a joke.

Rover,

The day I need an education from you on anything is the day I vote for Trump. Put it this way there is a better chance I cheer for Wisconsin AND UND then I ever require being taught by you. :D You can continue to educate the Chicken Little's like Sancho Doo though...they eat up your "knowledge" like its filet mignon :D

Handy you're the proverbial man with no balls. Its easy being an absolutist. You know you're going to lose so you get to say you never compromised your principles and other such nonsense. Problem is, that's not life. You don't always get everything you want, and people who don't realize that end up living in their mom's basement through adulthood because they never want to stick their noses out for a cause with an unknown outcome. How brave of you.

But, here's how you affect the population Ebola-style. Cruz and Trump supporters are crazed, and therefore enthusiastic. The key to this election is turnout. If one side is going around saying "Our Guy Will Fix Everything" while you are walking around like Debbie Downer saying "there's no difference between the parties so I'm not voting" that has the possible effect of giving us President Cruz or President Trump. Much like Nader supporters after Bush reign of incompetence, I hope you'll be proud of yourself if that happens.

Rover,

Were you in elementary school or a coma during the Bush administration?

I did the "Everyone is evil" thing in 2000. Never again.

Exactly. I guess Handy is like the rest of the population. The ones that don't learn. Nader burned this country to the ground. NEVER AGAIN.

So I should help elect someone I dont support to keep out other people I dont support? No thanks I wont vote. You and Scooby can pretend Minnesota is going Red til the cows come home but it aint happening. Stop pretending like every vote counts only swing states count.

Oh and Scooby I love how you talk about how I dont learn from history and you are the one ignoring history by acting like the Dems wont win this state. Which is it does history matter or not? And before you pis yourself talking about how we elected TPaw who was a GOPer guess who we voted for in the general? We have had other GOP Governors before...what candidates got our electoral votes? The only one ignoring history is you my friend...but please keep tilting your windmills you looked so hilarious telling us Romney was a shoe in to win...then Walker was a shoe in...now its Trump right? ;)

You want to make a difference, move to a state that isnt pre-determined.

And once again you prove you dont read anything anyone posts unless it 100% agrees with your point. I never said both parties are the same...they arent. I said they both suck which is completely different. Push comes to shove I align more with Dems than GOPers but I am not going to vote for them just because. It is why I will never join a party because I like to make decisions on my own and that goes against the party system.

My stance about not voting has nothing to do with the parties, it has to do with the candidates. I am not going to vote for some Faux Liberal because she has a D after her name. That would be no different than the conservatives who voted for a Faux Con because he had an R after his name. You dont like it because you carry water for Hillary and that is fine. Difference between me and you is I dont care if others like the candidate I like and you do. I am not even that hardcore a Bernie guy I just said if he ran he has my support. I knew from the get go he had little chance but he is my guy. The Clintonites hate that though...how dare anyone support anyone but her. Its pathetic...

Hey if I lived in Florida I might feel different...there every vote counts. Here in Minnesota the liberals arent going to stay home in Minneapolis so its fine. (unless you are Sancho Do...I think he still believes Walker has a shot here!)

But since I know you wont read this and will instead come back with some shot about Nader (like I am some hard core Green Party zealot) and how somehow he is the only reason Gore lost even though history shows that is complete and total BS (there were tons of reasons he lost including his own stupidity in running his campaign and his inability to be more engaging than a piece of Wonder Bread) I will just drop this and let you have your delusions of grandeur. When your girl wins the White House you will be impossible to deal with anyways so might as well start now ;) Kep he is all yours buddy :D

Handy is absolutely right. Sorry but I too will not play the game nor pretend that voting for Hillary is a good thing. I will however write in a 3rd if I don't like the one on the ballot. If that gets Cruz elected perhaps the Dems will bring someone that doesn't make me hurl to the table in 4 years.

Rover - bite me with whatever response you have I'll skip it.

The state of the Republican party is why I have to vote for Hillary. Until the fever breaks they can not be allowed near power again.

I completely understand you not being able to do it, though, and I understand there is a point where pragmatists trade away so much to win that the point of winning is lost. In normal times that might be true of Hillary, but looking at the tragedy/farce of the GOP, these are not normal times.

This is a legitimate response and it's one I would have shared in normal times. I would argue that the combination of ineptitude and viciousness the right is displaying makes the stakes too high for a principled stand, but I'll never argue against demanding from the democratic process a real choice. Hillary skirts the self-refutation of democracy in that she represents the anti-plutocrat party and yet is a card carrying member of the plutocracy. She will do nothing about inequality. In all these things she is a terrible choice. But -- the alternative is not just a deliberate worsening of these things, but an aggressive, empty-headed trashing of basic American values of constitutional government. That's too much to risk on one throw.

Rover is very wrong about many things and has been rather despicable in his attempt at Fox-like staging ("I know she sucks but put on a happy face -- we must keep up morale!"), not recognizing that the manipulative guilt-tripping he's advocating is exactly the characteristic of Hillary that makes her so repellent. Rover's strategic plan actually highlights much of what is wrong with parties in general and the Clintonistas in particular, so even from a practical point of view his way fails.

But. Rover has correctly diagnosed that at this instant in time the GOP is radioactive and we can't afford to be purists. Uncle Joe was bad but we needed his help to beat Adolf.

One certainly can argue that in times of great turmoil, pragmatism has to override principle. WWII was one of those instances. A democratic election somehow doesn't seem to rise to that level at least in my estimation. In fact, one could argue that the ability to drop our principles at a moments notice has gotten us into the situation we are in. Regardless, I hope your current example isn't prophetic.

Personally, I'll join Handyman & Slap Shot in sticking to principle

Re: Campaign 2016 - Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

And sticking to principle in 2000 certainly did change history. It didn't change a ****ing thing about the candidates running or the direction of the parties. But, whatever. It's like reasoning with cloth. It won't be a landslide in any state with Hillary running. Especially if Trump is on the other side.

I hope we get Trump. It's time for the chickens to roost.

The difference between you and me is you think the fever is going to break. It isnt. The Old White Guy who used to be the meat and potatoes of the GOP is dying off and the party has decided to embrace a new group. They knew they couldnt win over minorities or women so they have realized that if they just double down on the rhetoric and turn the whole thing into reality tv they can bring in millions of dollars and literally say and do nothing. They have done what few ever dreamed...they have gone full Ann Coulter on the bit and it is working to perfection. She flat out said they should do this on Bill Maher her last appearance...forget all colors go after every white person you can get because you have a better chance doing that than twisting into knots trying to appeal to races you obviously dont give a **** about. Throw in a little hatred and fear mongering and you have yourself better candidate than Mitt Romney was...

See you sound like the people who kept telling us Reality TV is a fad (your love of the Bachelor not withstanding :p ) and will die off soon...meanwhile it is stronger than ever. When you can put minimal effort into something and barely any money and make bank on it you will continue it until it blows up in your face.

The GOP is not going back to the party of Goldwater or even Reagan because they dont have to. Sure they will use the names to keep the old timers happy but they sold out their ideals long ago and have zero need to go back. They know they cant win on social issues these days so they would rather stand in the arena screaming "Are you not entertained!!??" More money in pretending than there is in actually winning. It isnt like anyone (who could get elected) is really going to attack Wall Street or the Military Industrial Complex or cut taxes to the rich (least of all Hillary...the idea laughable on its face) so they dont really care. The ones who do, are talking about leaving and going third party.

Keep changing your argument every time yo get proven wrong...it just proves your bit is stale. This is no different than the fear you tried peddling when Romney was running. If yo truly believed any of this you wouldnt balk at every attempt I have made to bet on it. Problem is you arent as dumb as your posts and I am one of the few that figured that out year ago ;)

What, I'm wrong just because Obama got elected twice? Anything could happen. Is it Hillary's to lose? Probably. But, I'm here to tell you she's just dumb enough to lose it. And if she loses it then the only other option will be whatever clown the other party puts up.

Romney lost because his campaign was stupid enough to allow him to say 47% in private while being taped and for being stupid enough not to remember that Obama said Terrorism about Benghazi right away. You can pretty much boil it down to those two moments.

And don't forget that there are a ton more GOP elected officials in this country then Dems. It's not like they don't have power. They do. And one wistful reality TV moment could give them the Presidency.

I have to admit this is a very compelling argument. It all turns on whether the plutes have colonized the Dems so thoroughly that they literally don't care which party wins. If so, then the GOPers might just as well do as you say and keep losing elections but cashing checks. If not, then as soon as the Dems propose restoring the steep redistributionist taxes which created the American middle class in the first place then the money men will step in and take back their party.

BTW, the Bachelor should be starting up again soon. The last few have been very weak so hopefully we'll see them up their game.

Anti-plutocrat party. Bwah ha ha ha.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but all of your golden children in the Democratic party, at least those above the township level, are members of the Plutocracy. You think the schmo mowing your yard is the next junior Senator from Maryland? Leaders like Debbie Wasserman Schultz? You know she understands what it's like to live on ramen noodles for a month, growing up on Long Island, living now in Weston, FL.

They are just lying to a different group of peons with a different set of lies, just to stay in power.

You can say what you want about the Republican leadership, but at least they don't lie about who they are. They like being members of the plutocracy (who doesn't).
