I'm not going to lie, everytime I see "HRC" in this title, I keep thinking it's for the Human Rights Campaign, not Mrs. Clinton.

I don't know what her approval numbers are, but she won easily. The MN GOP has been running throw away candidates in the senate races ever since Coleman lost, and even he was marginal, only winning because Sen. Wellstone died in a plane crash while on the campaign trail.

Now we have a gubernatorial candidate bragging about signing Grover Cleveland's (or whatever his name is) tax pledge and he also brags about Rush Limbaugh praising him for not raising taxes.

Don't disparage Grover Cleveland, one of our greatest and most underestimated presidents and also the name inspiration of one of our greatest and most underestimated pitchers.

It was, in so many ways. This in particular is the precise wording for something I've seen in candidates many times before and tried to articulate:

Evasive, rote, repetitive and canned, the man behind the podium wasn't simply not ready for the Senate, he wasn't ready for his own press conference. He has only so many tapes to play before they start to loop.

Also: Gary Cooper should have played Grover Cleveland Alexander. Those guys are separated at birth.

Last I checked she was the second most popular Senator in the nation based on polling.
