Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect
I didn't really think Hillary blew anyone away. And I'm not sure why Bernie is getting beaten up over the gun issue when it really came down to a single bill they debated about. His response was "I was representing the views of the citizens who elected me", which I think is perfectly fine answer. I think Bernie's biggest gaffe was zoning out during Webb's rant that somehow concluded with going to war with China and Anderson quickly asked Sanders for his thoughts, which brought upon the most general answer I've ever heard; something alone the lines of "Well yes, I think Putin will have to face criticism" or something like that.
Other than that, I thought Bernie did great. I thought Hillary looked weak when she was attacked from pretty much all sides on flip flopping and continually said "I don't see what the big deal is, everyone changes their mind on some things" rather than explaining why she changed her mind. Other than that, I think my biggest issues with her are acting like her and Obama smashed through the windows, did a barrel roll, and got up pointing their guns at China when they "crashed" their meeting, how she still doesn't have an opinion on weed, and her views on Glass-Stegall. What's the saying, history is the greatest indicator of the future? She basically said we need to forget '08 and focus on what the banks could do to cause the next recession, I think that's a poor answer to say something like that will never happen again.
They need to cut it to three for the next one. Webb and Alan Alda have no business being up there. Make it Sanders, Clinton, and O'Malley for the final five and call it good.
I think the problem with the Democratic debate is that there aren't too many differences that can be shown in a debate format. Yeah, Sanders is a democratic-socialist, but for the most part they all have the same views that come up. O'Malley even stole some of Sanders' patented talking points. Vast difference from the Republicans, who are not only fighting personalities, but are fighting a Tea Party, moderate Republican, and outsiders point of view every debate.
