Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is awful

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is aw

GFMorris has been re-tweeting a lot this morning. Most importantly, Trump will appeal a district court order regarding documented voter intimidation-related actions to the 6th Circuit Court of the US.

Thus isn't funny. It hasn't been for months. The fact that Trump can still win scares me.

That coat is US Army Dress Blues. Specifically, (if it's indeed his, which seems very likely as he's the right age) this gentleman wears the "Airborne" uniform patch US Army Special Forces and the beret patch of 7th Group which was the first to fight in Vietnam and Laos in highly covert missions well before Americans even knew where Vietnam was. 7th Special Forces is the direct descendant of the famed WWII "Devil's Brigade" and has been (and is) at the very tip of the lance worldwide for 60+ years.
Additionally this at least E-6 Sergeant wears the "Screaming Eagle" crest of the 101st Airborne which deployed in 1967 and spearheaded numerous battles all over Vietnam, perhaps most notably "Hamburger Hill" and "Firebase Ripcord".

His uniform also includes the US Combat infantry badge (for direct armed combat with the enemy), The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Purple Heart, and even more notably, The Bronze Star with Cluster and V Device. Clusters are awarded for multiple awards of the same medal and the V device is awarded solely to denote "participation in acts of heroism involving conflict with an armed enemy."

Back in the day this gentleman was among the very baddest of the bad, a real heart-breaker and life-taker, and a GENUINE war HERO. The President was right to show him some respect, you dirty hippies.

Thanks for the military history lesson.

Being a war hero doesn't make his taste in politics any less stupid or dangerous.

Philadelphia's skyline sure looks different. And there are a surprising number of Cubs fans in Philly.

To put it in simple terms, one I have said many times to drunk idiots: Being a war hero doesn't excuse you from being a jack*.

I'm pretty sure that guy is trolling for the lulz. I don't see any other recent pro-Trump posts from him.

Apparently I owe someone $20 because I'd have never guessed this guy would defend Trump.

And here’s how you know Trump is the most gangsta candidate ever. They asked him how he knows the system is rigged and he said, ‘Because I take advantage of it.’ He may as well have flashed his membership card for the Illuminati right then.”

That's pretty funny.

Yeah he is appealing the order from Ohio...I doubt the Court of Appeals will overturn it. The measures apply to both candidates. From the CNN article on the appeal:

Among actions prohibited under Gwin's order: "Hindering or delaying a voter or prospective voter from reaching or leaving the polling place," participating in "unauthorized 'poll watching'" activities, including "challenging or questioning voters or prospective voters about their eligibility to vote, or training, organizing, or directing others to do the same" and "interrogating, admonishing, interfering with, or verbally harassing voters or prospective voters."

None of that stuff is out of bounds to stop, it is not an overreach in any way. The fact that Drumpf is appealing it tells me everything I need to know...that the stuff specifically banned is the stuff he wants his people to do.

Even if somehow they do overrule...he cant do it until the order is overthrown so people can vote now and not worry. Dont want to risk being harassed vote early!

Perhaps, but they are as entitled to voice their opinion as anyone, and especially given the sacrifices made, one should maybe consider giving them a fair hearing.

When I've talked to Vietnam Vets, this is what they tell me:

For one, they see the terrible problems at the VA and are ****ed.

But more to the point of this election, they see a lot of parallels with Iraq and Vietnam. And they look at what's happening right now and see that we have guys over there fighting over the same **** land that guys already bled and died for ten years ago. But the President gave it back. And as bad or worse, the lives of guys over there right now aren't in the hands of the best fighting force in the world, with the full weight and support of the US Government, as was promised to them when they joined up, but rather are in the hands of militias and an Iraqi military that has a long history of mistakes and failure and fleeing in the face of the enemy.

They look at Libya and think "Why the hell would we trust one American life to a bunch of clearly unreliable so called "security forces" which were nothing more than a handful of untrained hoodlums ready to turn tail and run when the **** hits the fan? And worse again, with absolutely zero back up or contingency plans in place? Which is exactly what they did. And the pols just let it happen and say "Oops. Sorry..." afterwards.

This stuff is seen as being done largely for political reasons and they are clearly disgusted by these types of policies. Especially in light of their Vietnam experience where most serious Vets will tell you they weren't allowed to win the fight for political reasons, and if they weren't going to be allowed to win, they sure as hell shouldn't be sent anywhere in the first place.
These guys now are continually asked to accomplish more and more dangerous jobs with less and less support. Which they will do but I bet they wouldn't mind at all if the President or Hils were to say, " Hey, you know, maybe we shouldn't have pulled everybody out. That was probably a mistake." and "Maybe we should have put a jump team on standby near Libya and cleared some fast movers into Libyan Air Space just in case things get hairy in a country that is in the midst of a civil war. That wasn't thought through very well." Military guys might feel a bit better since they're the ones we ask to pay the price for poor political decisions.

When I personally try and look at it from their point of view, I have no trouble understanding why they don't want to support the status quo.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is aw

If Vets are PO'd at what is happening with the VA then maybe they shouldn't vote for the party that doesn't want to fund the VA.

And no we can't go big d*ck swinging around the world fighting everyone's battles. Yes it's a *ty situation that these troops are placed in but, I fail to see how Trump and the Republicans will help beyond sending out more to get killed and fattening the wallets of Defense Contractors.

There's something about this man's demonstration that strikes me as a bit conflicted. He makes a public show of his distinguished military service while shouting down the commander-in-chief?

Obama and Hillary will fight the war with bombs and drone strikes, GOP with boots on the ground (just not their own boots).
If we are going to fight a war, we may as well let the T-800 prototypes do it rather than flesh and blood human beings.

If you see his other tweets I think he's trolling Trumpsters.
