Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is awful

RCP has just updated their Electoral Map ... uh ... yeah ... 208/164 ... with 166 toss-ups.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/2016_elections_electoral_college_map.html

Michigan and New Hampshire are now in their toss-up category?

RCP counts all its included polls equally. So if Monmouth (A+ methodology) lists a state as D+5 and TCJ Research (F) lists it as R+5, then RCP rates the state as toss-up.*

RCP compounds this by oversampling Republican propaganda polls (Rasmussen, Remington, Quinnipiac, etc) and ignoring Democratic propaganda polls (Pew, PPP, SurveyUSA etc). 538 does include some of the better known one, but correct for their historical house effect, and it bans the worst offending garbage polls

* The state was NV, the race of Reid/Angle. Reid won by 6.

Had this conversation with folks at work today.

Them: Hillary's a liar, we all know it, all she does is lie. She wants to abolish the second amendment.
Me: Really? Where did you hear this? Just cause Rush or the loonie websites you go for your news said so, doesn't mean it's true. What was the quote? Where's you hear this from?
Them: I dunno. She said it. She wants to do it. And she's a liar, she lies all the time.
Me: And Trump doesn't? Fact check over the campaign has said that Trump lies more than 75% of the time, far more than Hillary.
Them: Doesn't matter, Hillary's a liar.
Me: Really, tell me one of them.
Them: the emails
Me: What about the emails, tell me, what exactly did she lie about?
Them: The emails
Me: But what about them? If she lies so much, must be easy to tell me one of them. Hell, I can tell you a Hillary lie. *Tells them about her coming under fire at the airfield*
Them: The emails, they were classified.

And on and on. Others were adamant about how Trump, who's made an entire career out of stiffing people who have worked for him, was the champion of the working man

I have had the exact same conversation. He liked to use some fringe news web pages to prove his point, and discount the trump lies.

For some reason, I think he's on the fringe news mail lists- as he keeps coming up with allegations that make him mad. Especially the war on the white male.

Why would that matter? There were Republican women tweeting that the 19th Amendment should be repealed.

Seen crazy women say that all sex is a form of rape.

(Just wish there were nutso broads in Maine that cared as much for the sheep and goats left to the spoils of all y'all puddin' eaters up there  )

I have had the same conversation with at least a dozen co-workers. It's always "she's coming for my guns." I explain to them that I'm far to the left of Hillary or even Bernie and I literally do not care about their guns -- it's not even on my list of top 100 topics to do something about. They look at me like I'm either lying or crazy, because guns are #1 on their list therefore they're #1 on everybody's list and "she's coming for my guns."

It was that way with Gore and Kerry and Obama, too. The NRA has sealed their minds. I've finally restricted myself to just talking to people who say they're undecided.

Once the input allowance bit changes from one to zero, it's over.

The really depressing thing is this happens with young coworkers, too. There's an entire new generation of these robots out there.

The FBI Picture Becomes Clearer

Wow...well I guess I should maybe lay off Comey because it looks like there is a full on revolt in the New York Office of the FBI (that is very tight with one Rudy "9/11" Giuliani) and has been hinting for months they would leak stuff cause they are butthurt over Comey not charging Hillary. I am sure it is all coincidental though...

Gee, you give money to someone's charity, and then they go and do things for you. Where have I heard that before? Hmmmmmmm........................It'll come to me.

But............................emails!!!!!!!

Most of the recent polls show NH as even, or even favoring Trump by a point or two.

Currently 538 Polls Only at 62% Hillary. This is, however, cratering -- down from 87% two weeks ago.

The interesting thing about the recent polls are they have very low weights. Look at PA and VA which are getting polled up the wazoo and you see a few high impact, solid polls. In NH it's bit players and, for the most part, crap. It looks like nobody thought NH would be important so nobody put good resources there.

All of which means the results are volatile and we really don't know what's going on in NH.

Trump contributed to Hillary. B-tch won't even campaign for him.

Actually its pretty split. Of the 10 that 538 has it is 5 with Hill leading (only 1 is really close at 1%) and 4 with Drumpf leading. (2 by 1% and 1 by 2%) The other is a tie. 538 has her picked to win NH in all 3 by around 2%.

Are you suggesting he FBI is...Pay for Play?

Breaking News: Hillary Clinton linked to 9/11...she was definitely in New York that day and has spent time on planes!

And Rover says "disperse, nothing to see here".

Scoobs you have to know you're going to get tortured out here the day after the election. I mean, Gitmo prisoners are going to be sending you sympathy cards. :D

I used to look at RCP until I caught them not including a pollster that they used to use because it interfered with their narrative of a tie race.

Regardless, Hillary still in good shape unless some of you were looking to recreate LBJ-Goldwater. ;)

Just roll with it and go all-in on the bit. Tell them you're angling for a spot as Director of the ATF, so you can personally oversee the 4 AM no-knock raids on their arsenals.

Then again, if you have to work with these nutjobs every day, maybe not.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is aw

Remind me again what the traditional GOP leanings are.

If you are asking polemicists for an answer, I doubt you'll get one based on what the GOP actually has said recently..... oh, I get it, by "traditional" they can make anything up they want to, never mind.

anyway, based on the 2016 Republican convention, Republicans want to protect the LGBTQ community from foreign terrorists who want to kill them merely for who they are, and Republicans want to protect women from rapists. it is also part of their platform to expand access to childcare for working mothers.

they also want to expand access for minority children to better-quality schools, and favor promoting charter schools over traditional teachers' union schools, and they want to keep members of minority communities safe from criminals.

that was what they said then, anyway, though I admit that the mainstream media probably missed those stories.

Did you notice that the Protector of the Downtrodden, Senator Warren, just came out against access to quality education for minority children? I was a bit surprised that the Noble Warrior would cave to the teachers' unions so abjectly. :(
