Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIV: Both candidates are the same, but here's why yours is aw

1. Because one party has decided that blacks don't deserve to vote.
2. Because one party has decided that the 85% of Americans who want background checks are idiots.
3. Because one party has decided that trickle down economics works.
4. Because one party has decided that passing laws making it harder for poor women to get the Health Care they need is good social policy.
5. Because one party has decided that building a wall and making millions of people criminals serves the public good.
6. There is no 6. (we dont need no stinking 6!)
7. Because one party has decided the Constitution needed changing so certain Americans couldn't get married.
8. Because one party has decided that their job is to block any Supreme Court nominee who isnt put up by an R.
9. Because one party has decided that rather than address serious issues or pass appropriations bills they would devote their energy to holding a show trial repealing a health care plan that has given insurance to 20 million previously uncovered people, despite there being zero chance that it would survive a certain veto. Sixty times.
10. Because one party has decided to vote consistently to gut financial reform and leave us wide open to another debilitating fiscal crisis.
11. Because one party has decided to hold the full faith and credit of the United States government at knife point and risk triggering an American monetary crisis and global depression just to score partisan points.
12. Because one party has decided shutting down the government is better than compromise
13. Because one party has decided Science doesnt matter
14. Because one party has decided that facts dont matter
15. Because one party has supported a candidate who blames minorities for all their shortcomings

No, that's not his only recourse. He and his band of fanatics have a wet dream where they overthrow the tyrannical federal government, jail/execute Hillary and install Sniffles as our new Fearless Leader. There aren't nearly enough of them to actually do it, but there are enough "patriots" willing to "water the tree of liberty" with their blood to create a headache for the FBI, ATF and local law enforcement.

Navy Jack is on the case.

Right but that isnt feasible...what they dream and what is actually possible are two different things.

And Jason Lewis in Minnesota's 2nd district is running for Congress on the Republican Ticket. He addressed nothing in that list in his Op Ed today in the local paper. It's like they all want us to pretend this isn't what's going on. He wants us to vote for him cause the Dems are lying about him (not) and that he is the champion of small business.

I am going to miss that man...

I believe in fifty years he will be seen as one of the greatest presidents. Most great presidents have been "divisive," in the sense that the ancien regime hated them and the change they represented. Depending on what happens Tuesday we are probably living through one of the cultural hinge periods of American history, like the displacement of the Puritans around 1700 or the end of WASP domination about 100 years ago. Since the end of WW2, diverse and educated Americans have had to tiptoe around, not disturbing the vast swathes of backwoods, backwards reactionaries surrounding every city in the north and west and surrounding the lonely "arts" city subdistrict in the south and midwest. Politics and marketing have played to the masses of as-ses because that's where the votes/money was. So we ceded the public sphere to them in exchange for hiding in our private spheres and trying not to provoke their mindless violence.

But. We're reaching the tipping point. In some places of course it has already passed, but in general now the cultural center of gravity of the country has finally reached where the more progressive elements of the country had reached 70 years ago. If it feels like an earthquake to the right, that's because the plates stuck for so long, and now we are seeing the beginning of a rush to catch up. The good news for them is, unlike minority life at their tender mercies, they in their minority status will find themselves protected among the many cultural minorities of multi-cult America. Once they get past that galling loss of privilege and accept that they are only one of many, equal to all, superior to none, they at least will still be able to flourish and practice. Nobody's going to lynch them or drag them from pickups or burn their churches.

And that's the difference between life dominated by the right as opposed to life with left and right in balance.

I mean I kinda get where they're coming from in some sense, this country is basically ran by oligarchs and crooked people who will implement policies that further enable rich people to get away with murder. Hillary is probably as guilty of that as any other politician. The problem is their party isn't actually doing anything to fix that problem and that's not even getting into the list you quote.

I hope there were lots and lots of Republican women in this crowd.

These douc-hbags really don't get it, do they? Your time is up, Biff Tannen.

You were expecting a candidate for a seat to write an op-ed to the paper and defend everything you don't like about the party instead of extolling what he sees as his winning qualities? From which reality are you working, Scooby? It sure isn't the same reality in which politics works.

What are you talking about? Earthquakes are caused when the Thunder Wizard gets angry. Plates? That sounds like heresy.
