Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

It is unfortunate that the scandal over Trump's comments detracts from his even more seriously flawed habit of being unprepared and his unconstitutional and bigoted policy objectives.

That is really all that needs to be said.

Who owns the New York Post?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

Gee Whilikers! Guess I should abdicate to Canada? Or is your thought more towards Russia?

It's is amazing to look at the liberal mindset. If you agree with them, no matter what your character is, they're for you. Disagree, and it's the reeducation camps. There can be no dissent or debate with a liberal.

You have no idea what you are talking about, like most of the rubes who support Trump I would gather. I am far from liberal. I struggle everyday with my own political beliefs as they relate to my employer and my chosen profession. I just know the difference between healthy differences of opinion in how best to govern, and bigoted fascism. Supporting Trump in 2016 is worse than supporting Hitler in the 1930s because almost 90 years later we should know better. And no, I do not want anyone dumb enough to vote for Trump to go to Canada. Or to Russia. I'd rather they take a one way trip to the moon. Perhaps from there they can do no damage to the planet.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

I disagree on this point. The problem with taking down Bill Clinton wasn't what he had done. It was the over the top accusations compared to what he actually had done. As we found out during the ordeal, half the Goopers in Congress were stepping out on their spouses at least. The public didn't care. It still doesn't care unless you're a hypocrite.

I said it then, and I say it now:

If you want to cheat, ok, I disapprove, but not impeachable/blah blah blah. Bill could have bent Newt over in the middle of a Senate hearing and gone Deliverance on him. Fine. Just don't lie about it under oath.

FWIW, I've tried that tack, and it's hopeless. Conservatives are conditioned by their hate media to label anyone who might be the slightest bit to the left of them a liberal.

My stance on guns and lack of championing a 90% top tax rate should disqualify me for the "liberal" label. However, because I won't denounce same-sex marriage, believe women have the final say on motherhood, and think Hillary Clinton is clearly, far-and-away the most qualified candidate in the 2016 Presidential race, I'm a dirty liberal.

I've learned to just roll with it.

Be careful. Many a Dem are the same way.

Unfortunately, this happened between me and my dad when the family and I went to the State Fair this year, where of course my dad wants to hit every political booth (major major major Democrat/liberal):

Me: The thing is, today there is no gray. There is only black and white. No compromise. It's either "with us" or "against us." That's what sucks.
Him: No, only Republicans think that way.

He said this without a HINT of hypocrisy.

To an extent, yes. The Bernie Bro stereotype is especially bad that this. Just go read some posts from Democratic Underground (the liberal FreeRepublic).

Unfortunately, in public and print/video, the conservative faction is undeniably louder.

Again, be careful. I am saying this with a broad brush, so please bear with me: liberals are all about tolerance unless you disagree with them. Conservatives just shout and scream about their beliefs until others give in or stop listening.

The first part of your statement is a conservative mantra that has been repeated ad nauseam for years. Opposing and arguing with conservatives does not equal "intolerance". "Intolerance" would be denying conservatives' right to speak by arresting them, or actually putting them in the concentration/death camps they claim liberals are trying to put them in. :p

The fact is, the stereotypical angry conservative gets more media exposure right now, because there are more of them (no surprise with a hated Democrat in the White House for 8 years).

I don't think anybody is praising or excusing Bill's behavior. And I think the outrage is definitely more focused on the sexual assault side of the allegations for Trump. If it was just infidelity I don't think we'd be hearing this.

But joe is just on blatant false equivalency in a desperate attempt to defend Trump.

Case in point, Trump cheated on at least one of his wives that we know of, and that really hasn't been brought up by anyone.

Got my absentee ballot today. Guessing it's too late to change names, RNC

Free speech, unless we disagree with you. The U of M did the right thing in this case. A couple days later:

The protesters in this case didn't want that signage out there at all. They wanted it gone, basically silencing the message/censorship. Something that the liberal camp is supposedly against.
So, the protesters aren't really being tolerant. Just saying.

Are political messages allowed? Is there an approval process? If so, did the UM chapter of the CR have approval to paint theirs?

All that being a 'yes', I might concede that in this instance, liberal stupidity has run amok.

That said, most college students barely know their arse from a hole in the ground. Let's leave them out of this discussion. :D

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

Someone on Facebook posted a "I remain more upset at what Hillary did than what Donald said." Did they not hear what Donald said? He said he did stuff. Stuff that pretty much equates to sexual assault.

So college aged protesters acting like dip****s is the same as actual elected officials acting like dipshiats (how many votes to repeal Obamacare have there been? 70?)?

I get your point, but Obama offered them as moderate a SCOTUS candidate as he could, and they all stick their head in the sand and refuse to even vote on him. And let's not forget that Obama offered Boehner a budget that would've been 90% cuts and 10% tax increases, and the GOP said no. And it wasn't the Dems who shut down the government and threatened to default on the debt.

One party is far more extreme than the other right now, and it's not even close.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

If it wasn't obscene (we know that drill, and think we can all agree on those standards at play) it was allowed. I may not (and often do not) agree with certain political leanings, but people have a right to voice them.

Edit: Scarlet: I think both are scum, for very different reasons. I have equal disdain for both.

This revelation wasn't likely to change many minds. Perhaps a few women still on the fence (if that were possible before this latest exposé), but still not likely.

I strongly disagree. One characteristic all my liberal friends share is their curiosity. They invite others to express opinion, particularly when it is different than theirs. I think sometimes people mistake being engaged with being shut down. Bob Gray was a perfect example.
