Pence 2020. Gird your loins, it's gonna happen.

Given the current state of the GOP, waiting to see who runs in 2020 is like waiting to see what mutated form crawls out of the post nuclear swamp.

Go discover a way for men to become pregnant, and you may have a point.

Until then, you're doing nothing more than whining about not being able to dip your pen wherever you want without consequences.

Definitely not. I'm in the keep your pen in your pocket crowd.

But if you "write" it, your libel. <-- Weak attempt a homonym or two.

I can appreciate Pence trying to save his own a_ss, but he's already getting killed by the fact checkers post debate. Can't blame the guy for not being able to effectively defend Trump, but pretending his statements don't exist makes Pence look like a doofus. In a debate which I too am not sure a ton of people watched to the end if at all, the two themes I've seen in the coverage is 1) Kaine was too aggressive/annoying, and 2) Pence BS'd his way through all things Trump. If you didn't watch the debate its tough to judge how annoying Kaine was, but its real easy to tell if someone lied when answering a question.

I'm not sure Pence has a choice, other than to step down as the nominee. Trump's life strategy is to say inflammatory things to get attention, then deny he said them resulting in more attention. He's made it work because he's a heel. His supporters actively root for him to lie. That's part of the gig.

OTOH, like most politicians Pence plays a face -- Cincinnatus reluctantly called from his agrarian paradise by the Vox Populito to slay the hypocrites and expel the moneychangers with his Honesty and Righteousness. Each time he lies to cover for The Boss, he poisons his own brand. He and his advisers know this so he tries to have it both ways -- dismissing criticism of Trump and turning everything back to The She Devil. But in laughing off Caine's and the Moderator's verbatim Trump quotes, he destroys not just his credibility but his mask of honesty. He betrays himself as just another party fluffer. Particularly these days, nobody is looking for that. I don't think he helped himself for 2020 at all.

Pence probably made the Republican establishment smile because for 2 hours, they got to imagine a world where their candidate looked calm and muddied the water enough to probably win after 8 years of being out of the White House. Then they remembered who their actual candidate was and hit the liquor bottle.

While Pence was braying about the Democratic "campaign of attacks," Trump was live tweeting attacks. There should be a Nobel Prize for Irony.

Yup. That was spectacular. And I'm sure Trump couldn't see or understand it.

If Trump had a clue, he'd have started tweeting something about Pence's last statem

And then put out a follow-up tweet about Kaine cutting off his last tweet. ;)

Gets run out of the primaries by Cruz or whatever clown tries to channel Trump. They have to regain control of the primary before they can pick a Pence.

Trump is Trump. There is no channeling Trump. Not without making one's head explode, Scanners style

Cruz may be soulless slime, but he is too much of an academic to pull it off.

Down goes Iowa.

I'm going out on a limb and say that will mark the high water mark for Hillary. The curve has been bending for the last 36 hours, and the drawn Veep debate should stop Trump's hemorrhaging. At least until the next hateful thing he tweets.

If true, she went from 52.1% on 9/26 to 81.7% on 10/5 -- 29.6 points in 9 days -- over the course of which she picked up NV (67), FL (68), NC (64), OH (55), and IA (50).

That would require wit and subtlety on his part, and at no point does it allow for use of the words "huge", "bigly", or "tremendous", so it's a no-go.

I find it curious that a potential human life (future voter for Chelsea Clinton?) is characterized as a "parasite" that must be "put up with".

Agreed. That corporate shill/Christian fundy stuff doesn't sell anymore. If it did they wouldn't have nominated a guy on his 3rd marriage who knocked up his 2nd wife while still married to the 1st. Nationalist populism is that we're going to get out of the right for the foreseeable future.

That depends on the next debate. If he recovers then yes. If he makes a fool out of himself yet again, he could start losing more votes to Gary Johnson.

I cannot understand how anyone is still voting for Johnson. And I am predisposed to really like him. But honestly his gaffes put him down with Dubya and Quayle on the "brainless pol" scale. (Palin and Trump are on a whole different scale where you start to worry about neurological disorder.)

Really? My wife threw up about every other day for 2.5 months, has had heartburn for the first time in her life every day for the last 6 months, can't sleep more than 3 hours at a time because her hips and back hurt, can't take any pain meds for said pain, can't run to relieve the stress, can only drink nominal amounts of caffeine and alcohol, takes more pills every morning than your typical senior citizen, has to pee every 30 minutes, has to go to the doctor every other week, and otherwise is feeling fairly miserable. And at the end, she will get to go through an event that every other pain on the planet is measured against.

But you don't understand how that's something that she and every other mother has to "deal with"? GFY.

But the Drumpf path to victory!!!!

Hey remember when Scooby said all those states were "lost"? He must have been thinking about Walker again :D

I assume you two made ... a choice. It's a package deal, and you knew it going in. Be happy you got the choice.

PS - Congratulations.
