Agreed -- but that doesn't help the situation or the people stuck in that situation.

Before I comment, can you clarify that statement? Please don't take this to be accusing or inflammatory, etc. If the dad is a deadbeat, then that does change things. If the mom is certified nutso, and dad is responsible, that also changes things, you know?

My thought was that parents split custody of the child, despite mom not being enthusiastic about the child. If dad loses interest, then the child usually defaults to the mom and if she didn't want him/her in the first place...Even if you do sue for child support, what child would want to grow up not wanted by either parent?

Gotcha. From what I was told by my lawyer, MN is not a "mommy" state, and as far as child support, even if one parent didn't want it, a judge could over-rule that, and order it. Of course, the recipient could just cut a check and hand it back, but there still would be that contact of sorts.

Either way, the child loses, I agree.

To actually be serious for a moment, I think some of us are saying that some men think, "That's our child, too," and should have a say in it. Some men, sure, abort. And others want to have that child and care for it. It takes two to start the act, it should take two to finish it, so to speak.

The second that men go through the hell that is pregnancy, I'll agree. Until then, nope.

Well the man should have the right to an opinion and all things being equal the mother should listen to him. It stops there though...

And again, men should have zero say in what rights a woman has. Sorry Right to Lifers unless you have a uterus or you literally are The Lord (if you believe he has an opinion) your opinion is worthless. The only thing more worthless is the words in a book written thousands of years ago that has been translated dozens of times. I know it sucks cause like, you are a man and your opinion is important, but it really isnt. I know i am one too and no one ever likes my opinion :D

Normally rights come with responsibilities.
When you say the male has no rights in the decision, does that then eliminate his responsibilities?

WaPo's take on the debate last night:

Winners:
- Mike Pence: From the very beginning, Pence was the more comfortable of the two men on the debate stage.
- Orioles vs. Blue Jays: For most of the 95 minutes or so that the debate lasted, it was borderline unwatchable.

Losers:
- Tim Kaine: Someone must have told the Virginia senator he needed to always be on his front foot in the debate, always be the aggressor. It didn't work.
- Elaine Quijano: ... Quijano lost control of the debate within minutes of it starting and never really got it back.
- The American public: ... holy cow, was that debate a) hard to watch and b) super depressing. Constant interruptions — especially by Kaine. A total refusal to answer questions.

Shouldn't WaPo's "Os and Jays" actually be TBS, who picked up the viewership?

Planet Earth would have a different opinion.

Then Planet Earth needs to grow up and recall that humanity popped out of her nether regions (unless you believe something like this). If she didn't want it ... her choice. Then again, I'm pretty sure she's trying to play by "I brought you in; I can take you out" mantra.

And for the deists: it's His rock, he can roll it as he chooses.

And then the moderator kicks in. https://twitter.com/mrctv/status/783493903861354496/video/1

I know the moderator has a responsibility to make sure a debate stays on topic, but that is just plain ridiculous.

For those that think Veep is just a bucket full of warm < whatever >, both of these candidates would be 70+ during a first term.

Nope. Just because rights come with responsibilities doesn't mean responsibilities are dependent on rights.

A soldier gives up numerous rights. If anything, his responsibilities increase.

Women have longer lifespans, so Hillary is still the safer choice. But by all means, keep telling us how both sides are bad.

How old is Pence? He looks like he's about 70 himself?
