Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

This is happening faster than I figured...I thought the debates would lead to this meltdown.

The image of Trump watching 20 TV screens and feverishly tweeting is completely believable. It's that combination of thin skin and ADD.

And I guess I'm a Trump fan, according to DX, just because I lean conservative. Along with every 4 of my 5 conservative friends.

That's not what I said. So you can take your straw men elsewhere.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

Amen, Wonkette.

Dr. Mrs. has a theory. Bill pulled Trump aside at Bilderberg last year and said, "Don. Please. She can't lose again. Do you have any idea what it was like in '08? Do you have any conception what it will be like for me after that concession speech in November? She's got lifeless eyes, black, like a doll's eyes. Jesus, guy, help a brother out." And Don said, "don't worry, Bubba. I've got it all figured out. Now pull out of Ivanka and give daddy a turn."

This whole thing is either a con or the greatest performance art installation in the history of the world.

That was almost unreadable at times. The only redeeming line was "count to Jesus"

You said 80% of conservatives are FOR Trump. There are a LOT of holes in that statement.
They could just be voting party lines.
They could just hate Hillary in particular that much.
They could very well indeed be actively for Trump.

Just because you vote for a person, doesn't mean you are actually "for" them. That's what I'm saying. There's a lot of "lesser evil" and other factors in there.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

If you vote for someone, you are necessarily for them.

To claim the opposite is insane.

Not necessarily. Let's say, to use an extreme, Great Honorable Leader Kim ran against Hillary. I'd vote Hillary. I would not be "for" Hillary, but I'd be so much more against Kim that I'd feel Hillary is the better choice.

"He's not Mr. Right. He's Mr. Right Now."

We have all cast ballots that were purely tactical. God help me, I have rooted for Harvard when Cornell needed their opponent to lose.

I would say, though, that if you vote for a candidate and they win, you share responsibility for them having won. In that light you did support their candidacy, even if you didn't support them.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

You are 100% wrong. If it helps you sleep at night, you can tell yourself that. But a vote for someone is an explicit endorsement of that candidate.

This same twisted logic is being used by the GOP to somehow say that Trump is bad but still endorse him.

Or the same logic that ANY party uses for their candidate.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

False equivalence. But nice try.

I can't remove a single time in my life where a candidate has had this many people decry as much of that candidate's platform yet still endorse him.

So obviously that's been like that for all time. Obviously.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

You implied that all parties do that. Enough to make a sweeping judgement saying that all parties do it. They don't and they haven't in 30 years.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

This is pretty ****ing, reading between the lines.

From comments:

This, folks, is what great management looks like. This is why we need successful business people leading government. Not losers who can't get anything done. Donald alone can save the country. He is a unifier. He is such a unifier you wouldn't believe.

One or the other, he seems disinterested to me or maybe he really is that big an idiot

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

It is clear now that Trump is a babbling fool who should not be allowed to hold high office under any circumstances. Also, that anyone who claims he and HRC are equally bad options is either in conscious denial or is also a fool.

The GOP's Reefer Madness approach to politics is catching up with it.

Johnson and Weld presented themselves very well last night. It was great to see the contrast as compared to all of the vitriolic nonsense we see from the two major parties. They gave thoughtful, truthful and logical answers. Seems like common sense positions to me.

Would love to see them in the debates, to win the debates they would just have to give a few decent measured responses then step back and duck under the torpedoes the other two knuckleheads throw at each other.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVI: KICK THE BABY!

Latest NH polls. Might be able to enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee on Labor Day weekend instead of knocking on doors for a coupla hours a day for "Not Trump".

The poll, conducted from July 29 through August 1, shows Clinton with 47 percent of the vote, while Trump sits at a meager 32 percent. In addition, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson took 8 percent of New Hampshire voters, while the Green Party’s Jill Stein gets 3 percent.

The tight Senate race between Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan also appears to be moving in a similar direction toward the Democrat. Hassan received the support of 48 percent of New Hampshire voters, while Ayotte received 37 percent support.

Shrill as of this morning is up to 77.7 percent at 538 in the polls-only, and a scorching 91.6% (!) in the NowCast.
