Then Fox is going to spend the next 48 hours explaining to everyone how Trump won the debate.

I wonder whether we are reaching the point where the other networks just ignore Fox. FNC is a little like Trump: they say ridiculous things and use the reaction by the other networks to drive their agenda, which is to have people talking about them. I suppose Fox was still important when Dubya was in power and so the Fox audience was in a twisted way responsible for, or at least complacent with, the direction of American policy. But with the RNC disbanding by attrition and a non-Foxite (heck, a non-Republican) leading the Republican party, and the other tentacles of the right's poisonous propaganda squid gradually going as limp as their audience, at some point there will be no reason to breathlessly report the latest Fox atrocity.

I'm sure the White Aryan Resistance also tweets ridiculous stuff every day, but it doesn't get picked up on the wire.

I wonder how Hannity felt when the DNC ran Ronald Reagan's convention all week. The only thing missing was the trickle down economic message. Stephen Hayes (same as Hannity just different DNA) on twitter spent all night *****ing about Hillary's speech. Reagan gave the same speech 36 years ago and he gushed.

What will happen (not saying it will, but it can) if HRC pulls a Reagan as in Debate 1 in 1984? He blew it, but recovered.

Will this board go Chicken Little?

I can see some real reasons for voting third party:

(1) If your overriding concern is the bureaucracy, you might vote for Johnson.

(2) If your overriding concern is the plutocracy, you might vote for Stein.

(3) If your overriding concern is the tyranny of the two parties, you might vote for any third party.
1 please. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror knowing I had voted A or B. I cringe when I see either on tv, have to suppress the gag reflex just listening to them.

Won't happen. Hillary doesn't blow debates. She never really lost to Obama in one last time around. She never lost to Bernie this time around. You can beat her on soaring rhetoric and charisma but you're not going to "beat" her in a debate on facts and substance.

I guarantee at least one board-wide freak out between now and election day. Ironically, the one guy whose colors won't run will be Rover. He's grounded in Hillary like the pillars of the Verrazano Bridge are anchored into the Narrows.

I thought that was where I would wind up, but Trump is simply too dangerous for me to take the chance. I live in a safe state, but I will be knocking on doors in purple VA this fall.

Plus, to be honest Hillary has been better and better as the campaign has gone on. At least with her we will get competence and hard work. And though a third Obama term isn't my anarcho-socialist wet dream, we could do (and have done) a lot worse.

Warms my heart to see some you lefties come around! ;)

Careful what you wish for. "If you invite this man to dinner, you gonna have to feed him."

We aren't just here for a visit. We're in the house, jangling the pot and pans, and doing our own cooking, thanks.

Trump is whacked and if I had to I would hold my nose and vote for Clinton but living in bluer that blue Massatuchetts I'm not going to have to go down that road.

You can help in NH, though.

I'm actually thinking of canvassing in VA and PA to stop Cinnamon Hitler.

A bunch of us are going up to Wolfeboro over Labor Day weekend. Might see if I can help out for a coupla hours a day.

My biggest concern is that Trump will intellectually perform poorly at the debates, but he'll do it with such bravado that the mouth-breathing echo chamber won't care and he'll still get 40+% of the vote and get a frightening amount of electoral votes.

Selective perception is such a strong cognitive bias that Trump supporters will honestly see Trump as winning the debates. Even if and when he is called on his lies, his supporters will double down.

Moody's analyzes what we can expect from the economy under a Clinton presidency versus a Trump presidency.

The man responsible for this analysis is a former economic advisor to John McCain, and he has donated to the Clinton campaign this time around. Given the donation, it would be easy to dismiss this as a partisan analysis. But, if he really believes in his analysis, it wouldn't really be surprising that an economy wonk would be trying to help elect the candidate who would bolster the economy instead of tank it.

Its more I have faith in my fellow man to completely reject Trump. Substitute Hillary for Uncle Joe Biden and I'd be saying the same thing. Generic Dem beats Generic Gooper in a Presidential election because there's More Of Us. Generic Dem beats nutjob Republican by even more.

If Uncle Joe was the candidate, I may have been tempted to pull D. No way, though, can I vote for Hillary.

Seriously, have you just set up some sort of computer algorithm to spit out variations of names, using various synonyms for orange tinted color for the first, and fascists for the second?

I suspect if Biden were the candidate, you'd find a reason that you could never vote for him.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XV: Before & After: Dancing in the Streets of Philadelphia!

Hilarious. A lot of people wondered why the Dems bothered giving Michael Bloomberg a prime speaking spot, given that he speaks to a fairly narrow demographic that isn't going to bring them much. Turns out it was basically just to troll Trump and it worked like a charm. Trump claimed he wanted to punch him and now is all mad online about it with another unhinged Twitter rant.

Like Hillary said, you're voting to give that guy nuclear codes.

One thing to point out, if people vote for Trump, then they should not complain about people wanting to take their 2nd Amendment rights away.

Still- I can't really wrap my head around the Clinton hate. She got off the wrong foot when she tried to lobby for health care reform as first lady- which apparently is a bad thing to do. Ever since then every thing she has done has been a bad thing- good or bad. HER email use was evil, but the same for Rice and Powell is just peachy keen. HER reaction to Bengazi was evil- Bin Laden was just going to happen. Etc etc.

As for the Right being angry with anyone who takes Wall St. money- what a freaking joke.

Or is it that she's evil for voting for a war that a President lied to our face over (and got re-elected for)?

What, exactly, did Hillary to wrong? Especially in the context of everybody else.
