So you vote for your incumbent and wonder why nothing ever changes.

< insert definition of insanity here >

That isnt what I said and you know it. Keep trying though...

Experts are saying that the Russians hacked the DNC to get this info. Many are also saying that the Russians are doing so to hurt Hillary's chances in the elections. So again while not his intent, Bernie is yet again being used. Its always important to remember as voters our underlying desires.

Well, it does seem to fit with Putin's endorsement of Trump for President. ;)

You dont elect a Facist to prove a point.

I fear both major party candidates are just that.
Both are used to getting their way and will get it one way or the other.

My fear is Trump and Putin getting into a manly-man, shirt-less photo contest on Twitter. < facepalm >

I think it's time all of us realized that we've gotten lazy and allowed ourselves to choose the lessor of two evils for far to long and we need to take back some of the power we've allowed the 2 major parties to accumulate. I think we all need to vote 3rd party and change the dynamic of america politics. I'm voting Johnson/Weld.

If the election were today, Trump would be an 11:9 favorite over Clinton, according to 538's now-cast.

I'm this close to hopping on the ScoobyDoo train.

I didn't think Hillary was a facist. I thought Hillary was a communist. Oh no, that's Obama. Sorry, I'm still confused.

Do keep in mind that this is post the RNC convention...and the DNC is to come. Having said that, CNN has it as a very large bump.

That'll be at worst flat pick-'em for Hillary by Friday night. --> Trump will run Operation: FOOTBULLET yet again via Twitter and Hillary will get post-convention bump (assuming WikiLeaks hasn't kept the best for Wednesday).

No, he's a Muslim and his wife is a tranny (c) Joan Rivers, RIP, donchaknow. :D

When you're under the boot does the political philosophy foot in it matter?

So took a closer look at this. 538 forces battleground states into picking a side. With that, Hillary went from having literally all battleground states (except NC) a couple of weeks ago...to losing to Trump Nevada, Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire and Iowa. Even with that, she still edges him out in electoral votes by a slim margin.

I wonder if there are more Wikileaks emails to come? My guess is yes but not until they can do some more damage

Not in the now cast (what would happen if the election were today), which also moves Pennsylvania over and puts Trump over the top.

Will you nervous nellies settle down already. McCain walked out of his convention with a lead over Obama, as did Mondale vs Reagan IIRC. Suffice to say, those elections didn't turn out too well for either of them.

However, the Congress, with power of the purse, could put a halt to that as well. But Congress today spends the vast majority of its time funds-raising for re-election rather than on the people's business.

Congress has relinquished its power deliberately, because with power comes responsibility. The theoretical check on Congress is the people, but with a 90% re-election rate among incumbents who stand (95% in the House), why shouldn't Members keep doing what they've been doing? It's working for them.

Hillary has too much baggage for me to be so confident. There is a good chance trump will win.

There is very little chance Trump will win. His appeal is all angry old uneducated white guys who are dwindling by the day.

Let's see, power, no responsibility, and the money keeps on flowing in. Yeah, why would they upset their gravy train. Go out, shake the "the boogey-man is coming!" talisman at the group that keeps electing you (left or right) and keep cashin' checks from donors.

Cynical, but the data and the eye-test back it up.

As I've said before, a big part of this election will be which part of the electorate is energized to actually get off the couch and vote. <-- That could be Hillary's undoing. She's just not as inspiring to the electorate that put Mr. Obama in place.

There is a very decent chance he could win. Even in the normal forecast on 538, he's gotten above the 40% threshold, and the polls were already moving in his favor prior to the convention. So it's not just a convention bounce, the email thing is sticking.

I'll repeat again. There is little chance of him winning. Anybody who forecasts an election the weekend after one party finishes its convention but the other hasn't had theirs yet has too much time on their hands.

If you people are this nervous about a November election in July, what were you guys like when your wives went into labor? Did you get run out of the delivery room by the nurses because you all soiled yourselves or kept fainting? Geesh, lighten up people. If Trump is winning in late October, get nervous. He just had his convention and he's no better than even in polling.
