Re: Campaign 2016 Part XIX: Escape from the Planet of Debates

On this fact checking deal, will there be any sort of system, like maybe some type of emoji scale, to rank or separate out the lies from the ****ed lies, and the statistics?

Do I have to give a trigger warning before I scream, "Suck it up, buttercup!" at the entire Hofstra campus?

I heard some crybaby last week whine that we should get rid of the entire EPA because some regulation hurt one power plant in Bum****, North Dakota. This stuff is out of hand.

You gotta wait for the schol bus? lwet me drive you to the end of the driveway in the car, and I'll sit there with you until it gets here. And I'll be right here waiting when you get home. Stranger danger!!!!

When I first heard of the phenomena or "trigger warnings" I thought they were some way of warning people quickly, say via mass text messages that there was an actual physical threat in a particular area, like a reported active shooter in a college setting or something. When I found out what they actually were, I said a silent thank you to the universe for the fact I was born long enough ago that I did not need to be protected against the possibility that someone, somewhere, may say something, that I might find upsetting. Good God are we effed as a society. We see harm where there is only information, and we see no threat where the threat has never been more real. I suppose the good thing about a Trump presidency is it will speed up the inevitable and give the next dominant species on the planet a head start.

General Thade is ready!

Which generation is responsible for Donald Trump debating tonight?

Clearly you're using "your" to the general population. I did not have helicopter parents. I was never a helicopter parent.

Some 18 year old might hear a word they don't like really compares to the EPA attempting to shut down the means by which 40% of US electricity is generated. If you so believe in that, do your part: Shut off the debate at the 54 of 90 minute mark.

The big, bad EPA shut off 40% of the electricity in the country? Must have missed that. Or you're a whiny, hysterical crybaby. There's really no way of knowing which it is though.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words now come with mandatory "trigger warnings". If you feel triggered please proceed to the nearest "safe space" know there are resources to help you.

You have. You missed what the CPP will do to 40% of US electricity generation (coal).

When you're on a board of directors that has to figure out how to replace that (effectively) lost generation asset while still paying the outstanding mortgage on the asset because of its forced early retirement, and then build a completely new generation facility (a large new mortgage), and still keep the lights on, you'll understand.

Until then, keep with the name calling. It's cute. It suits you.
