If we win both chambers, sure. If the GOP holds any power we're still screwed. That's true across the policy spectrum. If the GOP holds any power they will use it to sabotage the entire government. All they have left is planting IEDs.

I'd be in favor of 100% coverage below the poverty line and assets. I don't know if I support it for the middle class. There needs to be a sensible line. I like the idea of Medicaid for college.

Ad harsh as this is going to sound, I'd also cap the age at 55. You aren't making that back in ten years as a net positive for the country.

Saddam was good at killing terrorists. He killed a lot of perfectly innocent people too, claiming they were terrorists. The Donald probably has no issue with that at all though, and figures that's how we should act too. Er on the side of security. And anyway, they'll have brown skin and speak some sort of sing-songy gibberish, so it's not like they're real 'Mericans anyway.

There are about 8 people in college over 55. We can afford a net loss on them.

I wish this was the way everyone opposed to Trump would react. The only thing that keeps this guy going is all the free publicity. He ended up with more press coverage than the other Republicans got COMBINED. Marketing people say his coverage over the course of the campaign has been worth billions. That's BILLIONS with a "b." Multiple billions. Ridiculous. I wish that his coronation as the most unqualified person to ever receive the nomination of a major political party to be their presidential candidate would be met with silence. No protests. No gnashing of teeth from Democrats or reasonable Republicans. Just let him have the remainder of his 15 minutes of fame. Dismiss him with no more fanfare than you would express brushing a gnat off your sleeve. If we're lucky, come November 9th he'll have disappeared like a fart in the wind.

Because it's a good idea. I'm not one of the people whining about loans either (my parents paid for me to go to a state school plus I had a few academic scholarships), but I think that as a nation we are better off with people having affordable access to secondary education (trade school, community college, and university).

To make progressives happy? Ya know for someone who doesnt support Trump you sure do seem to parallel a lot of the BS his supporters spew. I am sure we will hear how the polls are biased next...

At the very least, the reintroduction of summer Pell Grants would be a small, but good first step.

Umass is already free tuition for kids who pass the mcas

Of course "tuition" is something along the lines of $900. FEES are another $12k
