Moody's report is an indictment on populist policies (and Trump is the ultimate populist).
Protectionist policies are typically bad for the economy. Perhaps there are a few jobs that are saved (but those are less productive and backwards looking). In an ideal world, those people are retrained and put to work in high value add professions. Then because of countermeasures, protectionism ends up costing the American consumer much, much more. These higher costs (i.e., more expensive chinese towels) then ripple through the economy meaning that everyone buys less and that means other US companies sell less. But the headlines are for the short term gain of a few less valuable jobs versus the long term health of the country and many more valuable jobs.
My gut is that even the Koch bros are in tune with this outcome...and it explains their stance towards Trump.
