It's not really that important, since Drumpf is basically saying his idea of a post-Casey world is The Handmaid's Tale. Granting that's been the wet dream of half the GOP for 40 years, he's useful for giving it to people straight and without the usual lies about "religious freedom" or "a culture of life." It has always been about one thing: punishing women who control their own sexuality. That's always been the greatest fear of these cowardly misogynists.
Context is important here. The sources I've been reading indicate he said women would have to be punished for having an abortion, if abortion were banned (presumably a hypothetical policy proposal of his, and assuredly a goal of Cruz's platform). Which would make it illegal, so duh...
