Kep, I'm not sure what The Second Coming will look like, but it probably won't be a senile 75 year old ex-hippie from Vermont

Bernie's just blowing the trumpet, Rove. I know it's hard to wrap a Clintonite's head around, but sanctuary isn't some dipsh-t hall monitor in a pantsuit or an old Jew with a Che t-shirt or even a magic Negro with a nice line of talk. It's not a "leader" at all, despite your authoritarian need to think of power flowing top down.

It's all of us.

So join, or...

Cruz needs to make sure he bribes Little Marco enough to get his delegates on his side.

I'm thinking Little Marco's delegates are going to Cruz on the first ballot to stop Drumpf, and then to somebody else on the second to stop Cruz.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. The GOP convention could be the subject of doctoral thesis for years.

Cleveland may never be the same again.

The cool thing is people can see it is going to happen. Typically weird, wild stuff happens out of the blue and so there isn't much organized, objective observation. But this... this is something everyone sees coming.

Given his recent comments I think Bernie's been blowing Republicans. Hence his need to use GOP campaign tactics against Hillary! :D

Which means that it's going to be mild and Trump gets the nomination, no questions asked.

Speaking of Herr Drumpf, he just asked the crowd at a rally in Pittsburgh about Joe Paterno's health, and if the coach was coming back to Penn State soon.

It looks like there are GOP VIPs who share this sentiment... and they're going to be as far away as they can get.

For the GOP’s elected representatives with careers to lose, the possibility of associating themselves with the chaos anticipated on the floor of the convention, and possibly on the streets of Cleveland, is stomach-turning. Already, a few of the GOP’s more cautious members are signaling their intention to keep their distance from the party’s nominating convention.

When CNN surveyed a handful of prominent Republicans and discovered a few of them were planning on skipping the convention entirely, the name with which they led was former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. “No,” Bush asserted flatly when asked if he would make an appearance in Cleveland. The most striking revelation in that report was not, however, that a vanquished former presidential candidate who had not won a race since 2002 would miss the convention, but that so many elected Republicans with skin in the game in 2016 would also be absent.

“I have my own re-election and I’m going to be focusing on my voters in New Hampshire,” said Senator Kelly Ayotte, who told CNN that it was “unlikely” that she would appear at the convention this summer. “I’m up for re-election,” echoed North Carolina’s Senator Richard Burr. “I’m more valuable outside of Cleveland than inside of Cleveland.”

Even prominent conservative elected representatives are planning on giving the convention a wide berth. “I’ve decided not to go to Cleveland,” said Representative Mick Mulvaney, co-founder of the secretive House Freedom Caucus. “I’m going to stay home and work.”

So essentially it's going to be the Red Wedding and anybody with half a brain is staying out of The Riverlands.

It will be Trump or Cruz. The only alternative is a full-scale revolt, and the sort of b*tchslapping in the general that the GOP hasn't seen since at least the Depression.

Just like Rick Scott smearing his apoplectic constituent with a cheap ad, it's probably a bad idea for Bernie to pick fights with individual C-suiters. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

If you think tD is a disaster and TC is a recipe for defeat, you hope that there is a palatable 3rd choice out there.

On the 33rd ballot, the convention nominates noted writer and former Nixon aide Pat Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan has chosen noted veterinarian Ms. Brandy Carter of Beltsville, MD as his VP candidate.

So....who exactly is going to speak at the GOP Convention? :D No Bushes, no Senators, no ex-Presidents, no past nominees (can you image the reception Mittens will get with the Trump crowd?).

Maybe they can just have right wing talk show hosts do all the prime time speaking gigs. ;)

The RNC should negotiate with the networks not to cover it.

You know, maybe its me, but I just don't want a left wing version of Trump running for President. Coarse language. Searching for enemies. Extreme positions. Call me an old fashioned limousine liberal corporate sellout ;) but the Democratic party ought to be better than that.
