How is this a problem when it has been the demographic for years? When you have no money you vote D. Once you get money you vote R.

Oh come now, it's more complicated than that. As you get more educated you vote D (knowledge), countered by as you get more money you vote R (self-interest).

Christ on a unicorn: according to exit polling from last night, in a Clinton-Drumpf general election 40% of WI Republicans would vote for Hillary.

If those are my choices, I'm leaving it blank. I think Gary Johnson will be on ballot in Maine so

I wonder how Scooby will spin that one ;)

They can vote for her. While she's in jail for emails unbecoming a Secretary of State. :p

Interesting things on Morning Joe this morning.

1. "Gov. Scott Walker tells Hallie Jackson: I am 100% behind Ted Cruz." What a croc.
2. Joe saying that Ted Cruz will NOT be the nominee.
3. Panel agreeing that stop Trump has worked.

That's going to be an epic convention.

I just filed my taxes so I'm well aware of how much I pay the government and there is still no way I'm voting R. I don't care if they'd cut $10K or more off my taxes. The party is full of nut jobs. The only exception is I might vote for Susan Collins depending on who she was up against (I did vote against her last time though).

The Susan Collins who time after times makes public statements about how her party should do the nice sensible things, and govern in a centrist manner, and then time after time votes for the wingnuttiest wingnut legislation there is? That Susan Collins?

She's a hack.

Yeah, I've never actually voted for her, but she is probably the only republican I could imagine voting for. At least she supports same sex marriage and at least thinks there should be a hearing on Garland. She did go more wingnut last election because of a tea bagger primary challenger.

If moderates have to fake being radical to fight off being primaried out I'm all for it. It's not like radicals don't fake being moderates in the general before going right back to being radical the day after the election.

That's going to be an epic convention.

As much as I'd love to see the inevitable meltdown, we all know what's going to happen: Even short of the delegates needed, Trump will be their pick.

As much as the left would like to see a latter stages George III as the nominee, I would hope, that after much bloodshed that leaves much of the leadership dead on the floor, a sensible candidate is chosen.

This, of course, as opposed to the Democratic convention, where Handel's Coronation Anthems will be played from every loudspeaker in town.

No, I don't think so.

Nope. He burned that bridge the second he said he would not stick to "the pledge". He needs the delegates before the convention or he will drop like a stone. Since he is not a true GOPer anyways they have no allegiance to him and half the base wouldnt **** on him if he was on fire.

She "says" that there should be a hearing on Garland, cause that bolsters her cred as a moderate Republican. As a sane voice among the psychos. But will she actively campaign and work to persuade her party to hold those hearings. Not a chance in hell. That's her modus operandi. Talk nice in the media, and then just follow along with what her party leaders tell her to do.

What are you basing this on? It seems to me the RNC couldn't have been clearer that if Drumpf has 1,236 they are going to screw him.

What I really hope is happening is the RNC and the GOP establishment have decided not only to screw Drumpf but to use Cruz to do it and then screw him, too. Drumpf has only been a menace to the GOP for 9 months; Cruz has been since the moment he was elected. Plus, the Drumpf Rift is a one-man, one-cycle issue, whereas the Cruz Rift is forever.

This is clearly a case where you hang back, let the two fish exhaust themselves fighting, then kill the winner.

As much as I think that is The Plan, do they even have a sensible candidate? Gary Johnson is not walking through that door.

If the RNC could just impose a Perfect Candidate, who would it be, from their perspective? I assume it would be the usual corporate con with some theocon window dressing for the rubes, but does that even exist anymore?

I heard Ted Cruz is a no as well. I wonder if they'll downshift to Kasich, or go off the board.

Kasich is polling well against Catherine Sans Horse, and he's been good at faking being a moderate (in reality he's been just as nutty when it comes to their Christian Talibanism), plus he has the charisma of an old throw rug and he's a creaky white male, exactly what they don't need optically.

Good heavens, would they go back to Little Marco?

Romney or Ryan maybe. Which would be epic.

Yeah, but this will kill them in the general election. Between Cruz and Drumpf, you've got like 2/3 of the Republican base choosing an outsider candidate. The mainstream, Washington insider, safe pick has been soundly denounced in this primary season. Jeb!!!, Rubio, Scott Walker, were out of this before it even began. If the Repub powers that be job both Drumpf and Cruz at the convention, the Tea-bag wingnuts are gonna riot. It will just confirm to them everything Drumpf has been telling them, that the game is rigged against them, and they'll just stay home on election day.
