Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

It's going to be funny when all this baggage sinks Hillary and we end up with whoever the GOP and the Koch Brothers back. Especially since it will be the "supposed" left wing media that sinks her.

The media hasn't been "left wing" since 1975. It used to be reporters were liberal because they were educated, but at this point the media are highly paid, pretty, empty-headed entertainers and they have always been conservative.

The knucks call the media "left wing" because even they don't swallow the BENGHAZI!!11! b.s., but that's like calling somebody "racist" for not being a follower of Farrakhan. :p

And Clarkson won the NCAA title this year. You have your delusions. I have mine.

I love how, according to Jindal, corporations joined activists to bully officials which is bad...sucks when it goes against you doesnt it. Maybe they need to have an exorcism ;)

Of course they did it cause people got mad and threatened to boycott...sounds like the free market deciding to punish bigots if you ask me.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

I wonder what goes on in Jindal's mind running for President? In almost 8 years of office his state ranks second to last in almost every category of quality of life, saved only from the bottom by perennial last place Mississippi. Simply put he's the worst governor of any state in the union, based on the 2 terms he's been in office and the backwards sliding of Louisiana during that time. Yet we're supposed to elect him President? I hope for his stake this is just a tryout for a Fox cable gig.

He's near the top in nearly every category for a Governor with the GOP label. That's all that matters.

The government media complex will report whatever the Bilderberg-owned Associated Press tells them to report. There's a reason that 90% of media is owned by five companies (News Corp, Disney, Comcast, Viacom, and Time Warner; some will say CBS, but I believe they are still a part of Viacom), and they're all in cohoots.

Texas went in the shtter on education, environmental protection et al under Dubya, and we saw how that worked out for him. You actually do better with the Republicans when quality of life suffers because BIDNESS FREEDUMB. Then in the general nobody looks past party label.

Lemme help you with that.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

My interpretation of this story is the GOP establishment has settled on Jeb, and they're synchronizing with his Neocon priorities. It's also the equivalent of a shiv in Cruz' eye. That'll make conference committees fun for the rest of the year.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Regarding the media. The last few decades is a great example of the Law of Unintended Consequences. Rigthies have engaged in a nonstop campaign to accuse every lamestream media outlet of "bias". Frankly, that's worked out well as you see these same outlets overcompensate to fend off the charge. For example, the NYT posted a front page story yesterday linking Clinton foundation donors to approval of a Russian mining deal as part of their pact with a Koch brothers funded author...only to have it come out today the donor in question sold the company two years BEFORE Clinton became Sec of State! Expect that to be buried on the back page.

So, the plan is working like a charm, right? So called left leaning organizations are covering right wing conspiracy theories. Actually, no. What has happened is mainstream and lefty voters have simply stopped watching CNN or subscribing to the New York Times due to their continual willingness to be a springboard for crackpot theories with little to no fact checking behind them. Instead entities such as Huffington/Kos/Daily Show/etc have taken over, leaving the traditional media to fight over a dwindling subset of the population who remembers Edward R Murrow.

It was a good idea out of the right. It just ran afoul of the Law of Unintended Consquences.

Are they all run by Jews...cause if so then the truth finally comes out!!1!!111

It worked out exactly as they intended. They knew their criminality couldn't withstand investigative journalism, so they deliberately set out to polarize all of media so that there were no objective standards left. This was actually a plan, hatched by Roger Ailes and other Republican operatives who were butthurt about Watergate reporting. That's all FNC was created to be -- the house organ for the GOP. They would skew all their reporting and editorial far right, and then bleat that anybody who didn't follow their lead was "biased." Classic false equivalency, but since most of their audience only wants to hear their own opinions echoed back, and a large percentage of them have low critical thinking skills, it not only works as a political tool but as a business model.

Kep it it worked out as intended they'd be holding the Presidency right now. They've succeeded in delegitimizing the media, but it turned out to be a pointless victory. Fox news isn't attracting converts. Its keeping the faithful engaged until they "age out"...

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Exactly, Right Wing Media hasnt helped out the GOP otherwise they would be in power. FNC gets ratings and makes money but despite it being a 24 hour news cycle for the candidate du jour it hasnt helped them gain any traction...in fact the purple states fled the party in the last 2 elections.

FNC and the rest of the RWM are now experiencing what the LWM experienced...the more you show candidates the easier it is to find their warts. Also the more you stand at your bully pulpit the more the middle tunes you out. This isnt the 1960s there are millions of sources of info with and without bias.

Everyone knows modern news is a fraud, people watch it to get entertained. (outside of the base on each side who honestly cancel each other out)

Their policies make them rich. It doesn't matter who's in power as long as the top marginal rate is low and all the loopholes are preserved. In fact, it's even better to be the out party, since then you can screech about The Tyrant!!11!

Until we roll back Reagan's theft of the public treasury, the orcs will be winning whether they're in office or not.

Is this a true story? I assumed they've just been stumbling along deeper and deeper into fantasy land by the natural gravity of mutual reinforcement and outside opposition.

It was completely deliberate. I do think they have been drinking their own pee for so long that they've had a psychotic break, but in the beginning it was cold calculation.
