Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

People keep saying how amazing it is that Trump is leading this field. He's not running against a single person qualified for the office; he's just the loudest in a room full of screaming chimps. All it would take is for the Republicans to have one alternative to Trump that wasn't bat**** crazy. Hell, I'd caucus Republican on Tuesday if there was even a half-decent alternative to Trump. I wasn't quite of age to vote at the time, but I did help campaign for McCain in the 2000 Michigan primary, just because I knew what the alternative was.

But tDon is running against the political establishment, not necessarily a specific D or R. Mookie may be on to something. I think Trump's more of a narcissist than our current POTUS, and that's saying a lot.

Here is tDon's campaign song: https://youtu.be/J1bWHgQA8b8

Here are the lyrics:
http://www.allthelyrics.com/lyrics/cantor_eddie/i_love_me-lyrics-1130127.html#ixzz41PJwe8rF

When people write their songs of love they write of one another
It's always sis, or ma, or pa, or sweetheart, wife, or brother
But love songs that they've aimed at me have all gone on the shelf
I don't think that it's fair, so now I'll write one for myself.

I love me, I love me, I love myself to death
I love me, I love me, till I'm all out of breath
I stop at every slot machine that I should chance to pass
And give myself a hug and squeeze as I look in the glass!
Oh, I love me, I love me, I'm wild about sweet me
I love me, only me, so I'm content you see,
I like myself with such delight
I take me right straight home each night
And sleep with me till broad day light
I'm wild about myself.
I love me, I love me, my birthday's once a year
I love me, Only me, and when my birthday's near
I go with me and buy myself some gifts to put away
Then I surprise myself with them when I wakes up that day!
I love me, I love me, I'll marry me some day
Right away, Saturday, I'll give me all my pay
With me I like to make a date
To meet myself at half-past eight
If I'm not there I never wait
I'm wild about myself.

I know a girl who has the boys proposing by the dozen
Among her lists are rich and poor and even one lone cousin
But when she speaks of love to me I treat her with disdain
I loudly shout, "There's someone else!"
And then this wild refrain:

Oh I love me, I love me, and every place I go
I love me, I love me, and at the movie show
I take myself right by the arm and push me through the crowd
And listen to myself repeat the titles right out loud.
I love me, I love me, I love to squeeze my hand
I love me, I love me, It always feels so grand
With me I get right in my tub
I let myself give me a rub
Oh how I love to feel me scrub
I'm wild about myself.

I love me, I love me, I'm wild about myself
I love me, I love me, my picture's on my shelf.
You may not think I look so good, but me thinks I'm divine
It's grand when I look in my eyes and know I'm mine, all mine!
I love me, I love me, and my love doesn't bore
Day by day in every way I love me more and more.
I take me to a quiet place
I put my arm around my waist...
If me gets fresh I slap my face!
I'm wild about myself.

Subscribed because this thread's use of tDon made me wonder when Don Lucia announced he was running for president.

Hillary wins SC. 84-16 win in AA vote.

Here are the lyrics: "I Love Me"
So you're saying that Josh Gad should have changed the lyrics to, "When I think about ME..."

Funny how Hillary is such a foregone conclusion that the story is barely mentioned here...and has already fallen off CNN headlines.

Don't know what Rubio did to Christie but this is a kick in the balls. Even if Christie had endorsed Kasich you could chalk it up to both being governors and all that. But Trump? Wow.

Christie and Rubio are young enough to each have other shots. Maybe they are just trying to degrade each other for future battles? Starting now, the road to the White House, 2024...

There is no question that Rubio and Cruz will return to the rodeo (*heavy sigh*). Christie, with his endorsement, I think is unquestionably angling for a spot in a hypothetical Trump administration, perhaps even VP - he's a classic machine pol. IMO, he knows that's the closest he's ever going to get to the White House.

I don't think Christie brings anything to that ticket. He needs a high profile EOP slot to burnish his "tough guy" image, but the problem with that is if anything goes wrong it's lethal.

Christie just flat out missed his window. Rubio, OTOH, is going to be a perennial. They groomed him carefully and they're not going to throw away the investment.

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

I got an email from Bernie this morning entitled "Let's try something a bit wild."

Sh-t, I don't even get offers like that from Dr. Mrs. And they wonder why I'm loyal...

Today is one of the most important days of our campaign: the final FEC fundraising deadline before Super Tuesday. Let me tell you why this matters.

Eleven states vote tomorrow, and twelve more vote over the next two weeks. It is the most important stretch of our campaign. And what today’s deadline will tell us is whether or not working people coming together and contributing small amounts of money can compete with the millionaires and billionaires bankrolling Hillary Clinton’s campaign and her largest super PACs.

So I have a wild idea: I want to challenge you to help our campaign hit a goal that will absolutely astonish the political and financial establishment of this country. It’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s within the spirit of this campaign to accomplish what everyone else thinks is impossible. So here it goes:

Make a $2.70 contribution to our campaign and help us hit our goal of raising $40 million in February before tonight’s critical FEC fundraising deadline.

Help us reach $40 million for the month of February. Add your contribution now.

We started today having raised $36,105,613 in February from more than 1.2 million individual contributions. I have no idea if we can reach our goal by midnight. But if we do, it will not only send an unmistakable message about the size and strength of our movement — it will also ensure we have the resources to win this Democratic primary. That’s why your $2.70 contribution before midnight is so important.

If you want to contribute to Bernie today (hint: you do), here's the link. If I just violated site rules, mods please just take out that last sentence.

Isnt that what people said about Paul Ryan? That went over like a lead balloon and he hated it so much they had to make him take a new roll at gunpoint.

The problems with Rubio arent going to change with time...he has been this way since they first tried to make him their hip young candidate. Remember when he gave the rebuttal for the SOTU a few yeas back and kept having to drink water because he was so nervous (or at least appeared as such) his mouth went dry a bunch of times? The dude is a spambot who winces in the limelight.

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

John Oliver had a great line in his show last night (actually, he had a lot of great lines). When talking about a possible Trump presidency, he said, "You will remember January 20, 2017, because that's the day everyone in the future will be traveling back to in order to correct everything that happens after."

Yup. He's just not cut out for a leading roll. He looks like a pipsqueak. He only mouths well rehearsed talking points. He gets nervous too easily. Does this exchange sound Presidential:

•Donald Trump on Marco Rubio: "I go back and I see him with makeup. And it's like he's putting it on with a trowel."
•Rubio on Trump: "The guy with the worst spray tan in America is attacking me for putting on makeup. Donald Trump likes to sue people. He should sue whoever did that to his face."
•Trump on Rubio: "He has really large ears, the biggest ears I've ever seen."
•Rubio on Trump: "And you know what they say about guys with small hands."
•Ted Cruz on Trump: "Multiple news reports have reported about his dealings with, for example, S&A Construction, which was owned by "Fat Tony" Salerno, who is a mobster who is in jail. It is owned by two of the major New York crime families."

Yeah.

Kep, save your money. Bernie Sanders got crushed in South Carolina, and he's going to get crushed tomorrow once again. His campaign seems to be struggling with the notion that the voting has already started. Holding big rallies and putting out press releases about yuuuuge fundraising is great, but once it doesn't translate into, you know, actually winning states and delegates, its all fluff. If Bernie Sanders truly commanded a new, 10 million person progressive army that would overwhelm the current political system, viva la revolution! These people seem to still be 1) sitting out the election, or 2) they don't exist. For his sake I hope they show up real soon. If he loses Massachusetts (down by 5 to 8 points in latest polls) its time to call it a day.
