Re: Campaign 2016 - I'm Biden my time till I doctor the hearing.

Will you just let Scooby live in his own little world? He's the left's version of Flagdude! :D ;)

However, what he failed to mention is EVERY President leaves office with smaller representation than when he got in, EVEN St. Reagan! I know, the shock of that statement...

Win the WH and the Senate goes with it. Then Dems would have controlled the Presidency for 12 years and the Senate for 10 out of 12. That leads to control of the courts. Regarding the states while Scoobs has a point in places like Florida and Ohio where the state parties need to do much, much better, otherwise he's spewing nonsense. States like Maine and New Jersey are going to have a pretty quick snapback once their deeply unpopular governors leave office. I'd also look at places like Nevada and New Mexico where popular sorta moderate Goopers are term limited.

The problem is if you read the article carefully you'll see that our losses have been worse than usual, and of course they have a nasty tail effect because 2010 was a very bad election and that's the redistricting driver.

The good news is:
1. demographics favors the Democrats heavily
2. the next redistricting election, 2020, will have the full electorate
3. as you say, continued occupancy of the White House means dominance in the federal courts, which means GOP Neo-Jim Crow schemes will be struck down; flipping SCOTUS will mean reversing Citizen United and McCutcheon and restoring the Voting Rights Act
4. having a slim majority in Congress with an opposition party in the White House is TERRIBLE for the Republicans in a time when Congress is so hated

Wishing does not make it so.

Doc and Don have tapped into a segment that is fed up with the status quo. You may also argue that Bernie is tapping into the same segment, though from the opposite side. Now what happens at the conventions when the party bosses shove the fed ups off to the side in favor of their paymasters?

I want to see floor fights. I want ugly. I want the whole ugly mess that our political process has become laid out on the conventions floors so that even the dim bulb in Throttlebottom,TN figures out that he's been taking it up the gas pipe for his entire life.

Then either we get the first legitimate third party since the collapse of the Whigs or we head down the road to political perdition.

There won't be a floor fight in Philadelphia. Hillary will have the nomination all sewed up by Super Tuesday.

God only knows what happens in Cleveland. It is completely believable that nobody will have a majority. What happens if the delegates break down something like .3 Trump, .3 Rubio, .2 Carson, .2 Jeb. Dogs and cats living together.

He's got it all wrong. Pyramids aren't granaries; they give you a granary in each of your cities. Though I usually try to build the Great Library myself.

Just as long as his words aren't backed with nuclear weapons.

Yeah, and Wisconsin used to be a blue state. What's your point?

They havent voted Red in the general since 1984. 8/10 were Blue and the only Red were the Reagan years. I know you never let facts get in the way of your blatherings but come on man. This crap didnt work when you were fellating Scott Walker for President :p

Please, take a Civics review course and learn the difference between The Presidential Election and Local Elections.

It all matters.

I wouldn't even wait that long. 26 Gooper Reps sit in Obama won districts. They have a 30 seat majority. If the FL court ruling holds up, its 28. There's also pending rulings in TX and VA.

So, at the very least, win back the seats that Obama claimed victory in and you massively narrow the GOP majority. How hard can that be? Obviously they're not going to win them all, but picking off 75% of them narrows the gap to single digits. I think there's only 4 or 5 Dems in Mittens districts. The GOP majority isn't sustainable at this level because its built too much on success in a non-Presidential year with freshman or sophomore reps who haven't had time to establish themselves.

IMHO, if Hillary can win on a level between Obama's 2008 and 2012 wins, in this polarized electorate, a lot of these Congressmen are going to be out of a job. The rest would depend on retirements in swing districts and/or scandals.

You chickened out on the Walker bet...you want to put something on the general and how Sconnie votes I will be here waiting to collect :)

Highly possible that Wisconsin flips the bit in retaliation of Walker's decimation of their way of life. OR, they possibly could go full Derp mode on the bit like Kansas and Kentucky have. It's hard to say. It will be fun having Hillary in office and getting nowhere on anything for 8 more years. Or maybe we'll get Trump so we all can die in a sea of fire.

If it's Carson the Sea Of Fire will be Disneyland by comparison to what he'll do.

Great Library gets you a free tech in the ancient era. Worth a lot more than the granaries...

Depends a lot on the GOP nominee. Rubio or Bush and it's probably just a continuation of recent trends, with Hillary matching Obama's 2012 result. Trump or Carson and it's a landslide, possibly even a long-term realignment, with Republicans going down in flames everywhere except the Deep South and the Aryan Nation states (ID, UT, WY, AZ). Cruz, I dunno. All my instincts are he can hide as establishment -- he's repellent, but so was Dubya.
