Country club Republicans will be fine with Rubio. He'll protect their tax shelters and their corporate perks and that is all they care about. The other 98% of any Republican campaign is just grease to slide into office.

The only guy the country club had to perhaps fear, as in his election could cause them some problems policy-wise, would have been Paul. The other guys are only risky to the degree they will be rolled by the Dems and pull down the undercard (and with Hillary as the Dem nominee it's an open question whether the country club might even prefer her to win).

Most of Old Pio's views were angry idiocy, IMO, but I would have loved to hear him rant about how the CNBC handled the debate. My, he would have been in form.

I read something (Atlantic? The Nation?) that showed CNN's questions at the Dem's debates were just as viscous and still light at times.

The GOP's candidates are just a bunch brain dead, hick, p***ies. If I were in charge of the GOP I'd be embarrassed. Hell, I'm embarrassed for them now. These a*holes have nothing of substance to add, and that's pathetic.

The GOP of many decades ago would be ashamed.

CNBC did screw up that debate, badly. But the question Ted Cruz went off on them for was actually legitimate, he just didn't want to answer it because they essentially asked him why he wants to shut down the government when there is a plan in place to fund everything with bi-partisan support.

Pio would've undressed the moderator team about ten times over by now, and probably would've had some crazy anecdote about the biz.

Seriously, if these dolts are complaining about a couple of tough questions or oddball topics, then they aren't fit to face Putin, China, or even Congress. Give me a break.

They didnt talk about Saint Reagan enough and only ask about Hillary's emails? ;)

It isnt like CNBC is the liberal arm of NBC/Universal...the lame canard that they didnt play fair or ask the right questions because it was the GOP is fraudulent.

Exactly. Like I said, if you can't handle some debate that irritates you or you can't handle the questions, then you are exactly right. They are frauds. It's a perfect word.

Yeah, if you can't appeal to a network crowd that employs Rich Santelli and Larry Kudlow, who ARE you going to appeal to? CNBC is hard right Reaganite conservatism. Maybe that's out of style amongst the Cruz-Carson-Rubio crowd but they're about as liberal as Margaret Thatcher was.

Maybe this brouhaha will result in better debate questions in general. Substantive questions such as, "the CBO has estimated your tax plan will result in record deficits. What are the major aims of your tax plan and how would you achieve them without accumulating greater debt?" That is a different question than "Senator Bedfellow has called your wife "the Whore of Babylon." How do you respond to him?

Questions of bias aside, I think there is no question that the quality of questions and their use in helping Americans pick their chief executive leaves much to be desired.
