Maddow is unwatchable now. Spends more time mentally fondling herself than actual journalism. I still like Lawrence O'Donnell though.

I still like her investigative pieces. That being said I don't totally disagree. Fact is they all become parodies after a while. O'Reilly pretty much started the format and he's the biggest parody of them all.

Its funny you always mention Fox, is MSNBC, CNBC, CBS, ABC, Etc etc for rocket scientists.? Aren't all television news programs made for 60 second attention spans?

Humans are down to eight seconds. Same as a goldfish. Hence why Twitter exists: to nurture the dumb.

Re: Campaign 2016 - A Trump l'oeil? Kepler's Laws of Election Motions? Ship of Fools

The main difference between Maddow and most of her counterparts on Fox is that she's about an order of magnitude more intelligent. That doesn't make her any less of a partisan hack though.

Absolutely true.

I remember when I stopped watching Fox Snooze. I am much happier for it.

Fox Snooze, for some people (especially baby boomers) is like an addictive drug. They become loopy once it's gone. Dish Network's programming choice clearly placed that on display.

You... you... you should maybe think of watching Fox News again, based upon your recent posting history on this site.

She may be educated, but I'll argue against "intelligent". If she was intelligent she'd have found a way off of MSNBC by now. Or is she happy there because they'll put up with the partisan hack shtick.

She has her own show. No one else is going to give her her own show. She gets paid pretty darn well, too. Nothing wrong with working for MSNBC. I should be so lucky.

MSNBC gave Ed Schultz a show. Not a great frame of reference. ;)

He's also been fired twice and no longer has his show. This last run of cutting did not include Rachel.

That's a fair point. Whenever I make the mistake of listening to Schultz I think, "why isn't this guy on conservative talk radio?" He's got the same affect, intonation, and idiotic tough guy act. I think he missed his calling.

Uh ... Ed Schultz was the conservative right-winger on Fargo, ND, radio back in the day ... until he jumped stations in Fargo and became liberal for pay ... which got him an MSNBC gig. That told me everything I'll ever need to know about any and all talking heads on cable.

I should've known that about Ed because before he was the radio voice of UND Football he was the radio voice of NDSU Football.

Bill Hemmer...but Hemmer was actually someone of notoriety at the time he did a 180.

Interesting observation.

Here's another example of the Trump pattern, how his candidacy has this uncanny ability to trigger explosions in virtually every part of the conservative ecosystem it touches.

Now Bristol Palin, famed abstinence advocate and unwed mother, is attacking Erick Erickson for attacking Donald Trump for Trump's attacks on women. Why does she care? Because she's still steamed that Erickson didn't seem to care about sexism when it was aimed at her mother, half-term Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin.

Did we know there was a Bristol Palin - Erick Erickson feud? I do not think we did. I'm not sure there was one. But now there is? How did Sarah Palin get involved? No need to answer: Donald Trump. Everybody gets messy. His presence pulls everybody down three rungs and gets everyone off message and fighting. If the Democrats invested every dime they had to engineer the perfect agent provocateur to infiltrate and unhinge the GOP they could not come up with anything like this.

In election cycles, people get too caught up in the flavor of the moment.

Bernie won't win. I promise. Hillary was never as strong as her early numbers. Hillary is also not in trouble now. She will have a fight on her hands if Biden enters...otherwise the nomination won't be close.
